Nice historical feel in the entire building. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Comfortable and homey atmosphere. Needing to check out at 12 vs 11 like most other places is nice because you don't feel rushed. One of the most beautiful rooms we have ever stayed in. Shower is heavenly. Having 2 bathrooms a nice surprise. Cozy sitting area. Beautiful... More

Stayed here a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved it! The staff went above and beyond to make you feel at home , our room with a king size bed was super clean and huge! The food was great and our complimentary breakfast was delicious!! The lounge with "open mic" night was a hit with our " 2015 CAR RALLY"... More

Lane's Privateer Inn: The Lane family has created a beautiful place where wonderful employees go out of their way to make the guests feel completely at home. We organized an event whose destination was Lane’s Privateer Inn in the picturesque town of Liverpool, Nova Scotia. Our group of nearly 50 people (adults and some teenagers) filled 21 of the 23... We stopped here toward the end of our Atlantic Provinces driving trip. Inn was recommended by the tourist information centre. The Inn dates from 1798 and was the home of a privateer. It is undergoing renovations and our room 121 on the second floor was fine. View, A/C, nice bath, etc. Only thing missing was a blow drier. The room... More

Stayed for two nights in a ground floor room. Nicely refurbished with a 40" TV that could be placed in a better location (partially blocks the bathroom door). Staff was helpful and pleasant for the Motel, the restaurant staff needs help. Dinner on Sunday night was a long drawn out affair with only 3 servers for many guests. The food... More

My boyfriend & I just returned last week from a wonderful 5-night stay (Sept 3-8th) in King suite 116 at Lane's Privateer Inn. We had an excellent vacation! Our room was spacious, clean & comfortable. The AC worked well & was not too loud. We had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker; all of which were in fine working order.... More

My mother stayed 2 nights—the first, in a room on the second floor that was a bit smelly and tired looking, and the second, in a nicely renovated room on the first floor. She was moved to the first floor because she has difficulty with stairs. Thanks to the staff for taking the initiative to move her. The food in... More

This inn is a warren of halls, corners, and steps, but it is charming if you like old and quaint. The included breakfast can't be beat, and the staff will do all they can to serve every need. The riverside setting is beautiful.

The inn was very dated and under renovation. Our room was dingy and much in need of improvement. The breakfast was OK. The location in Liverpool was OK and adjacent to the river, but Liverpool itself was not worth seeing.
