Hope Farm and its owner, Mrs. Ethel Banta, a master story teller and great southern lady, provide a gracious setting to enjoy a relaxing time of porch setting. The home and accommodations are filled with history beyond imagination. We stayed in the smallest room with a very tiny bath, but other rooms were much more accommodating, and all were filled... Delightful owner who is extremely knowledgable in Natchez history. Interesting and exremely humorous, Ms Banter takes you on a tour of her home after breakfast which is the one day she will come a knocking on your door and you will have breakfast at 8:30! We loved her and her hospitality. Hot coffee on the screened porch ready at 6... More

I visited Hope Farm as a stop-over for some research for a book I'm writing, and I think I found a whole new novel. Hope Farm is the oldest house in Natchez, with the original structure being the home of the Spanish governor. Our room was an absolute delight: old things that were really old, not set up to look... Hope Farm is a historic home with a wonderful hostess who brings it all to life. Our room was large and airy, breakfast was excellent, and the house tour was the icing on the cake. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay.

From the time the proprietor, Miss Ethel opened the door, I knew we were in for a truly wonderful experience! As the oldest surviving home in Natchez, the home is filled with period pieces that enable you to step back in time. The cook Elizabeth prepares southern style with flair!

If you wish to stay at a HISTORIC B&B then you may wish to stay at Hope Farm. If you want a POSH B&B then you may want to go elsewhere. The house and rental rooms are filled with antiques and treasures of all kind. Edith (the proprietress) is from an old Natchez family so she was a joy to... More
