My husband and I indulged in the Bucks & Belles package at The Briars on the weekend prior to Christmas. We were in for an extra-special treat!! Mr. Leon is most accommodating as a hunting guide and Ms. Glenda is an expert cook! We plan to return for the 2016-17 Bucks & Belles hunting season!

Through planning and searching for the perfect place for our small, intimate family wedding, I thought we had found the perfect place at the Briar's. The setting was perfect and the staff worked hard to make sure everything was arranged the way we had wanted. Contracts were signed, deposits were paid, and I thought we had settled everything prior to... More

Thank you for your review. We certainly do apologize for all of the inconveniences that occurred during your special day. As The Briars is under new management, I personally, can't speak for what was discussed with you prior to your wedding, but I do know that you should not have been told that plates and cutlery would have been provided... We visited the Briars in 1993 and had a wonderful experience. We were met in the main house and given a tour by a butler . The next day the owners were hands on with manicuring the lawn and meeting the guest and making sure our visit was wonderful. The breakfasts were excellent and the service was also. This trip,... We're sorry to hear you weren't happy with your experience. The Briars is currently under new management and making changes around the property. We've since changed the biscuits and they are delicious. We hope you'll consider giving us another try if you're back this way. More

A beautiful property with a very historically significant home! The owner, Kristy, gave us a tour and took her time to answer all the questions we had. She even shared sweet stories of her children in relation to some of the antiques- like where a little repair may have had to been made. The view is spectacular! I cannot say... More

We stayed at The Briars to attend a family event. My husband and I picked the Jefferson Davis room and we fell in love. We were able to sit on the magnificent porch and watch the river roll on by and when the sun finally went down... the most amazing view of the bridge was visable. The staff was kind... More

The property is nestled atop the highest point on the Mississippi River between Natchez and St. Louis. We were given several options for rooms and chose a room in the original house where Jefferson Davis was married. The room was spotless and we enjoyed walking the grounds. If you're looking for a quiet getaway this is the place.

This 'step back in time' could so easily be missed by passing travellers who would first find new modern hotels adjacent to the main road that crosses the river between Louisiana and Mississippi. Hidden from sight, with access through the car park of the Hotel Vue, this gem of a plantation house comes highly recommended. We stayed in the ‘Varina... More

We enjoyed our weekend getaway in the old school house. The room was very clean. We enjoyed walking around the property and the great views. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very helpful. I would definitely recommend the Briars.

Loved the property and how secluded and quiet it was. The breakfast was great and the grits were Amazing! We will definitely go back again. We stayed in The Jefferson room and it had a wonderful little private deck with a view of the river. The bed was super comfortable. We slept late every day. Room was very large and... More

We stayed here whilst on a road trip. We booked it on a whim whilst in Memphis as a stop on the way to New Orleans. It was a really charming B&B and the service was really great. We used the literature provided to find a place to get takeaway seafood that we ate on our terrace - fabulous. The... More
