My son's wedding was at The Briars and was just breathtaking. The grounds were gorgeous and the backdrop of the plantation home was beautiful. Our families stayed overnight in the rooms and they were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. My 82 year old mother had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and was so impressed, she... More

The Briars B&B offers the most beautiful view in all of Natchez and possibly on the entire Mississippi River. Sitting on the back porch of Briarvue which looks out over the River is beautiful and so relaxing. What a picture perfect location. The view at night of the lighted River bridge that spans from MS to LA is gorgeous. The... More

Despite the efforts of the two ladies who run the Briars, it needs a man's touch. A man with a bulldozer. It is potentially unsafe and in our room a faint smell of gas. We were above the kitchens. And also despite the rickety wooden walkway to view the mighty Mississippi, we would have been safer in the nearby Best... More

My husband and I came to stay for the weekend in the School House room. It was a little musty (but it WAS built in 1785 and is partially underground), so it is expected. The room was fantastic. The story of how it was built from flats on the river is on the wall for you to read. The views... More

After reading the prior reviews , my wife & I stayed at the Briars .We travel quite frequently & stay in a variety of accommodations. Regardless of how one might classify the Briars,it is not a 5 star B&B. We have stayed at several B&B's in Natchez that are far superior. The positives.. 1. The manager is charming & accommodating... I have been to The Briars on multiple occasions and each one was nicer than the one before it. I have attended two bridesmaid’s brunches there; at one the owner himself served us a delicious breakfast. The room was beautiful and the staff was great. I have also has the pleasure of staying at The Briars for a weekend. I... More

Our daughter gave us a night at Briars for an anniversary gift, wonderful room, beatiful view and amazing breakfast. Wish they would sale the recipe for their grits. The view of the bridge is beatiful from the Briars.

This property is beautiful! Our room looked directly over the Mississippi River and we could watch the barges passing by. It was very peaceful. We attended a birthday party that was there and everyone was very professional and helpful. Wonderful food also. Can't wait to come back again!

Stayed here at least 10 times over the years. We hadn't been in a few years and decided to go back. Big mistake. Rooms are no longer rented in the house due to new ownership. The only good thing I can say is the breakfast is good. They used to serve grits and grillades. Now it's scrambled eggs and bacon.... More
