My wife, son and I stayed here recently on the tail end of a road trip and enjoyed it. This is not a typical hotel: no large lobby, no gym or swimming pools and no elevators. It is however a large B&B style venue with some added extras. These include a great outdoor deck for dining or drinks with exceptional... More

I took my husband here for his birthday and it was just lovely. The location is excellent- a hop skip and a jump from our home in San Francisco, it's very affordable, and it feels far away from home even though it's not. Our favorite hikes are also nearby- the Redwood trail that connects to Nature Friends beer garden (which... More

We stayed at the Mountain Home Inn while attending a friends wedding in Stinson Beach. The ceremony was taking place on Mt Tam. The whole stay was fabulous. We stayed in room 9, and it was our first time to San Fran area. The Inn reminds me of ski inns in Vermont, it has a rustic east woods feel to... More

My husband and I had our intimate wedding reception at the Mountain Home Inn back in January. From our first encounter with Daniel 'till the day of our wedding, he was very welcoming, professional and accommodating. He allowed us a lot of flexibility and was very easy to work with. Daniel was very organized and efficient; he had a concise... More

My wife and I stayed for one night here to celebrate our birthdays which are 1 week apart. When we booked a few weeks earlier the weather here in the Bay Area had been unseasonably warm and dry with threats of a drout. This wasn't the case when it came to our mini-vacay away from the city. The heavens opened... More

Last minute getaway, had a romantic dinner. With the suggestions from staff we had the next day planned. Breakfast was delicious with a gorgeous view. Had the staff pack us a sack lunch for a beautiful hike up to east peak. Expected nothing out of the ordinary but was pleasantly surprised!

Had a great one night stay at the Mountain Home Inn. The location and exceptional service cannot be beat. We took a hike on the back side of Muir woods, then relaxed on the terrace with a drink watching an amazing sunset . The rooms are a little dated and in need of some care. No TVs in the rooms... First of all, the folks at the Mountain Home Inn are just great. Super friendly and accommodating. Now for the bad news - I think this place was last renovated in oh, like 1980 or so, as the photos I am attaching will show. We had a super expensive "view" room without a view; our wall had nail holes in... More

We at the Mountain Home Inn would like to thank you for your warm and comforting comments on our staff, your compliments are appreciated and I have passed them onto the team. "Now for the bad news," I apologize for the leak due to the rain, fixing that leak has been a priority for me since recently taking the management... More

We stayed at Mountain Home Inn for the first two nights of our honeymoon. We wanted something more private and romantic. It was easy to get to from San Fran and easy to find. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised when we were told they were giving us a free upgrade to room 5. We think it is an... More

We stayed here recently for two nights during a week in Marin. We wanted to mix it up a bit and experience this mountain retreat. We did also read Trip Advisor regarding this Inn and should have really paid more attention to the condition reviews. The views are nice, but the deck was closed for repairs. I opened my balcony... Thank you for the compliments on our views and breakfast, and sorry for your experience with the top deck temporarily being closed. Unfortunately our deck was closed on the Monday and Tuesday of your stay, it was also closed for the following Monday and Tuesday as well. The closure of the deck was to seal it with Epoxy to further... More
