We came here with our hiking friends (from all over the world). There were 14 of us. This Inn was terrific for our group: quiet, clean, great breakfasts (make your own waffles, oatmeal, fresh fruit, delicious coffee, etc., etc.), and a nightly wine and cheese gathering. The management and front desk worked with us to make this stay memorable for... More

Stayed for one night after staying in the city. I nice relaxing contrast and great location to visit Muir Woods. Town shops and restaurants pricey but this hotel was good value. Breakfast was great as was ,on the house, evening wine and cheese. Our room was very comfortable with a view toward the hills.

I have stayed at this hotel about 25 times over the years. Always a great experience - from the front desk, to the breakfast servers to the complimentary wine and cheese evenings. No room is a bad room - but they have great rooms over looking the quiet street with little balconies. For peace, they have some wonderful rooms opening... More

We had to be in Marin in the am and pm on a saturday - called first thing in the am and got a lovely room - which took our yorkie ! amazing! The bed was comfortable -the room very clean! we were in a cabin which had redwoods right outside ! There was breakfast and wine in the afternoon... More

We spent 3 days at the Inn while we explored the local area attractions. It is a beautiful facility in the heart of Mill Valley surrounded by gorgeous redwoods. Very comfortable rooms and great service. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of selections; and the afternoon "Happy Hour" is fantastic. A multitude of exceptional restaurants are within a block... More

My husband & I made a quick trip to San Francisco to celebrate our anniversary. We couldn't seem to find the perfect hotel in the city but stumbled over this one. It was perfect! The drive from the city was beautiful, our favorite part of the trip, and only a half hour. The price was much more affordable, the room... More

The rooms were fantastic. Large beds, large rooms, large (and spotless) bathrooms A stove for when its cold, and a big picture window, with French doors and a small balcony- all very comfortable. The position is ideal. But, but but.... The public rooms were dreadful. Carpets that I didn't want to put my feet on, and dark furniture. There was a... More

Dear 4519Mary, I really appreciate the overall, good review. Thanks so much for your positive comments, regarding our rooms and breakfast. That said, I’m sorry to see it overshadowed by your dislike of our public area. I’d really like to get more feedback from you, about this, as your clearly felt very strongly about the negative points that you mentioned.... More

A gem of a property, great location, friendly staff, a nice happy hour spread and a great breakfast. Check out the town or go hiking right out the door. Our room was well sized, nicely decorated, and the products in the bathroom wonderful. Don't have a single bad thing to say....if you are staying in the area this is a... More

The Mill Valley Inn, located off the main square of the lovely town after which it is named, provides cleanliness and charming comfort. The staff is cordial, welcoming, helpful when asked. The continental breakfasts go way beyond the strict basic offerings of a traditional continental breakfast in a lovely setting. This applies also to the Inn's afternoon wine and cheese... More

The Mill Valley Inn is a lovely little gem in the middle of Mill Valley. The rooms are clean & lovely. There is no resort feeling here, it is much more like a high-end B&B. The breakfast was good but not great. All in all a very nice stay!
