We recently attended a funeral in the area and the wake was held at the Manor House Hotel. We, and another couple, also chose to stay the night there. The hotel did an excellent job as far as the reception after the funeral was concerned and it was a first class stop over for us afterwards. The staff were excellent,... More

Having been invited to a family wedding anniversary party at this location, we decided to stay the night as well. From the time we booked to the party and our overnight stay we couldn't have been looked after better. Fran helped us with our booking and then was there to welcome us on arrival. As well as traditional rooms they... More

We stayed at The Manor House on 19th Deember, although we live locally, we were attending a Christmas do there, first impressions are important, so when we were shown to our room and the stair carpet looked like it hadn't seen a vacuum cleaner in a week or more! The room itself left a lot to be desired - laminate... More

Chalet room was excellent, lots of space and even our own patio doors and outside parking. Breakfast was a treat and the Hotel staff, particularly the owner/manager were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is tucked away along a very narrow country road but other than that is an excellent location. Would not hesitate to visit again.

This hotel has the individuallity which comes from being privately owned, we stayed in a chalet in the grounds, spacious, clean room with comfortable bed and small patio area. The breakfast was as expected for a budget hotel, if your looking for a overnight stopover this is well worth it.

Only giving it a 1 rating because you have to give something. I booked a night away for my partners birthday. On we booking we were specifically giving the choice of a hotel room or chalet room. We choose the hotel room as we wanted a hotel stay and not a holiday camp. On arrival we found we had been... More

How does one respond to such vitriol? Embellished complaints and over dramatic exertions of energy- 'braving the rain to walk 10 yards across a courtyard ' Sir Ranulph Fiennes eat your heart out! I cannot begin to imagine your utter dejection that after your epic trek the 'rude staff' could not aid you in your most noble cause. I think... More

After requesting on booking that I would like a room in the main house, rather than a chalet, I was told on arrival that I was in a chalet. Oh well there was no heating in the main house! As I'd also requested a bath rather than a shower I had little choice but to accept the chalet tucked away... More

Initially we thought it was great. Arrived mid afternoon, got key to chalet number 2, lots of parking space. Went out visiting and returned later in the evening. Wedding reception in full swing and parking very limited ( had to park in darkened corner outside of the courtyard). The noise was bad till about midnight when it started to get... More

We booked through booking.com and paid £55.00 for a chalet room. Parking was ample. The room was large and clean with the option of two double beds as a sofa was available to convert. Noted the other reviews regarding not being able to have any fresh air, only through the patio door which we didn't want to leave open over... More
