The hotel was lovely and the position & view spectacular overlooking the Bristol Channel and Weston Super Mare. The sun was out when we arrived, parking is a slight issue, but there were people sitting outside drinking wine in the sunshine. Welcome was warm & the room was large & overlooking the view at the front, room was very clean... More

Previous owners of Seacot, as it was called for nearly 25 yrs before, who also ran it were always very welcoming especially on Sundays, although very busy as lunches were so popular, we were always received with friendly faces. We also stayed there many times including our friends from England. On our last visit, the new proprietors & staff were... More

Came here for Sundaly lunch with family. Wife had a Nicosia salad and they tuna was overdone, no dressing, no egg and poor salad leaf selection - so pants My fish was good (cod in batter), no chicken for children's meal Expensive £50 for what it was Would go for coffee in the morning but would not for main meal... Great location especially sat outside on a sunny morning. Dog friendly & plenty of shade under the table for her. I asked for a bacon & egg sandwich but as that wasn't on the menu I was told it wasn't possible. Despite having a bacon & tomato sandwich on the menu & many breakfast dishes made with egg. Apparently 'it's... More

Have had breakfast here twice this year . First time the weather was very good and we sat outside. The service was excellent and the breakfast great, smoked salmon and poached eggs. We went back two days ago, weather was "early morning chill wind from the sea" so we asked to be seated inside. We had a table by the... More

Positive: nice view. Negative: Poor service by giggling teenagers. Poor food not as described on the menu and a hair was found in one meal, presumably from the chef, who was not wearing a hair net. Overpriced and disappointing.

decided to eat Sunday lunch by the sea and chose The Pier. The service was friendly and the place was clean but that's about it. They don't do a vegetarian Sunday lunch so my other half opted for fishcakes and chips. Both turned up very quickly which usually only means one thing; the meals were microwaved. The Sunday lunch was... More

We could not fault the welcome and service here. Unfortunately the restaurant was cold. We had the Sunday lunch which would have been perfect if the gravy had been served on the side. I am not partial to too much gravy and our meals were swimming in it. So tips to owners - get an additional heater for the conservatory... More

We used to go to this restaurant for a chilled sunday brunch when visiting friends who live in Penarth and were surprised to find it had changed hands and the once excellent breakfast menu is now a shadow of its former self. Forget asking for a fry up, it's now a 'grill up' and, seriously, who wants to cure a... More

I originally visited this b'n'b before it's new management and was a little worried when I saw it had changed hands. But needlessly so. My stay was comfortable, well-attended and the restaurant is good. I'll start with the positives, because there are some negatives. The hotel is flexible on check in, so when we arrived at 5pm it was no... More
