We stayed here for 2 nights to attend a wedding at a nearby venue. The first night on the Friday the wedding party had booked for everyone to attend a meal here and what a fantastic meal. We both had the lamb and it was absolutely delicious just melt in the mouth! The girls serving were very efficient and helpful... More

First visit here as new locals. Food was great and location fab too. Loads of nice reviews which are warranted but I was sat at the table on my own for 15 minutes before being offered a drink, no smile or greeting as I came in. I think the server was harassed rather than rude, someone please give him some... More

We stayed in the River Room after a day walking in the Brecon Beacons, ready for a day’s kayaking on the sunny Wye the next day. The room was spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable and the private veranda overlooking the river was the perfect spot for a glass of wine in the evening (and a coffee the next morning).... Jane and her team run a great ship! We stayed for dinner, overnight and then 4 days canoeing. From the moment we arrived to the afternoon we were collected from the river, her team surpassed our expectations. I wouldn't hesitate recommending The River Cafe! DG

The bunkhouse was a great place, able to sleep 14, a huge kitchen and dining area and lounge area, and a slide to get... More

We stayed at the river cafe whilst visiting the Hay Festival. The room was wonderful the staff very friendly and went out of their way to help with advice and transport. We also had dinner in the restaurant and the food was also very good and the service impeccable. We will visit again next year. Thank you.

We stayed for a night during the Hay Festival. The twin room was stylish and clean with good quality tea/ coffee/biscuits. Lunch was imaginative and delicious as was dinner. Breakfast was also lovely and included in our room rate. Food was locally sourced and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff who drove us to and from the... More

We arrived at the River Cafe after walking from Hay on Wye, a beautiful five mile wander along the river Wye and the Wye Valley trail. The walk was around five miles and well worth doing if you are staying in Hay. The scenery was truly stunning and we only crossed paths with one other person on our way -... More
