We stayed at the river cafe whilst visiting the Hay Festival. The room was wonderful the staff very friendly and went out of their way to help with advice and transport. We also had dinner in the restaurant and the food was also very good and the service impeccable. We will visit again next year. Thank you.

We stayed for a night during the Hay Festival. The twin room was stylish and clean with good quality tea/ coffee/biscuits. Lunch was imaginative and delicious as was dinner. Breakfast was also lovely and included in our room rate. Food was locally sourced and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff who drove us to and from the... More

We arrived at the River Cafe after walking from Hay on Wye, a beautiful five mile wander along the river Wye and the Wye Valley trail. The walk was around five miles and well worth doing if you are staying in Hay. The scenery was truly stunning and we only crossed paths with one other person on our way -... More

What a unique and enchanting place. Set beside a beautiful spot on the River Wye whether you want a 3 course meal or a coffee with Muffin this is a fantastic place to while away your time. Great ambiance, lovely views of the river (especially if you book a table at the window), an outside eating area when the weather... More

The bunkhouse is perfect for a weekend away with friends in beautiful countryside. It's really well equipped and very comfortable with all mod cons. Beautifully decorated and the slide is a great touch. Sky TV was a bonus! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, would definitely go back.

We popped in for the first time on the way to Brecon. Was surprised how nice it was inside, great décor, interesting art for sale on the walls. Lovely coffee and service. Didn't realise how much this place offers by looking at it on the outside. Right by the river and not far from Hay on Wye. Would recommend this... More

Went with a group of friends to spend a day canoeing down the River Wye and used the Bunkhouse at the River Cafe as our base. The service and food at the River Cafe was great and the accommodation was excellent. A short taxi to Hay on Wye for some pubs. Really enjoyable way to spend a weekend...

I'd highly recommend this cafe / B&B. The setting overlooking the Wye is beautiful. It has a real homely feel to it from the decor to the food. The decking outside which overlooks the Wye (on a few different levels) is ideal for a sunny evening. The food is homemade, delicious and well presented. The staff are friendly and can't... More

We walked up from Hay and had tea and chocolate cake. Forget the London River Cafe. This one is far better.Full of life on the river. Hire a boat bike or scooter. Great food great place to stay. I recommend the chapel bunkhouse with is quirky slide!

Great venue. Food and beverage list had a great selection. Great location on the banks of the Wye River. Not tried the B&B facilities BUT have seen them 1st hand. Neat and tidy and priced well. Can't rate it enough. Next time we go we'll be trying out the kayaking.
