Checked in on a normal Monday for a two night stay. We were met at the station by a pleasant driver who was polite and attentive and made us feel welcomed. He had waited for a delayed train. We checked in with no trouble and were shown to a suite overlooking the swimming pool in a small outbuilding called Anchor.... More

I was fortunate to win a competition for 2 nts. accomodation inc meals at this superb hotel. Every room has a different theme & well appointed. Sumptious lounge and restaurant, with glorious walks in grounds and around the Italianate village. Super-friendly staff and as faultless as its possible to be. Beautiful views of estuary from our room - even better... More

when I was younger I always wanted to stay at the hotel in Portmeirion and now I have...... The village is a very quirky if not a little eccentric, but well worth a visit. It was great to walk around in the evening, after dinner, when all the day visitors have gone home. drinks on the terrace were wonderful...... The... More

Stayed in the Portmeirion hotel after hiking up Dnowdon with my wife. The location is stunning and the place is packed with history and stories. We ate in the Castle which was stunning and had breakfast in the hotel which was also quality. Room had a spectacular view and staff were all super nice and helpful. My only criticism, more... More

We stayed in Hotel Portmeirion for 1 night during mid if May 2015. We were given a cottage which was in the main village rather than a room in the hotel premises. The cottage was excellent and very specious. The decor of the room was very soothing and gives a very special feeling about the place. The Bathroom was quite... More

We booked this hotel last minute, because the weather was nice and we wanted to make the most of it. From the website, I was confused about which accommodation would suit us best in Portmeirion and I am pleased I chose the hotel because of its central and coastal location. The hotel itself is very endearing and quirky, but I... More

This was a trip we have wanted to make for some years, and at last we have been able to stay at the Portmeirion for a couple of days. The hotel is within the Portmeirion village and easy access is possible by car through the barrier with parking right outside. As a special treat we booked 2 nights in the... More

Stayed one night recently and were blessed with lovely weather which certainly enhances the location. Situated right on the estuary the scenery is wonderful. Stayed in a room (Bridge House 4) overlooking the estuary and the spacious and well appointed room had superb views. Ate in the dining room which was OK but nothing special whilst breakfast was all you... More

Just back from a 2 night stay. If you are thinking of going – go! I had seen the village on the Prisoner (which was the main reason we went!) but it is much more impressive in reality. It’s so beautiful, especially in the sunny weather which we were lucky enough to have. We had a lovely room (upper villa... More

Idyllically situated on a promontory of a wide tidal estuary, the Hotel is part of the Italian village and gardens designed by Clough Williams Ellis. It is unique, idiosyncratic and slightly surreal !! I stayed in one of the village rooms on the hillside, rather than the waterside hotel. The room was large, comfortable, super new bathroom, books to peruse... More

Thank you for your lovely comments following your recent stay with us, the village is indeed a magical place, even more so when the sun is shining! I am very sorry that you were told incorrect information regarding the land train and I apologise that this meant you missed out on seeing the gardens. I have spoken to the team... More
