It is about a 10-15 minute walk into town and very close to Mt Rushmore. The rooms are clean and beds and pillows are comfortable. Bathroom was very clean with good water pressure. parking can be tight but it is free. Room had a nice small balcony. The room I had was quite spacious with a love seat & table.... More

Older hotel, but quaint - room was clean, but small. Staff were polite. Very close to everything and is handy to Mount Rushmore memorial. Parking was right out front which was convenient. It was attached to a pizza restaurant which had pretty good pizzas. Breakfast was included in the price which and was nice. I would stay again. Very good... More

This is an older hotel without some of the newer amenities (for example, we got a hand-written receipt). We chose the hotel because of how close it is to Mt. Rushmore. We had a nice balcony from our room on the 3rd floor. There is a small table with a couple of chairs. Beds were comfy enough. The sink was... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and found it to be quite charming and comfortable. It is conveniently located to visit all the sights of the Black Hills. The staff was friendly and our room was clean. We were pleasantly surprised to have breakfast, which was so convenient to start our day. We will stay here again if we travel... More

At the edge of town and two miles from Mt Rushmore. Very convenient location. It really is not too far for walking to the downtown area of Keystone for the restaurants. The hotel has a nice appearance and really did not look old to me. The first floor has a nice big outdoor porch across the entire front and the... More

My second stay at the Roosevelt Inn and I would recommend to those of you out there who are looking for a convenient location for viewing the wonderful sights of the Black Hills. The inn is a basic motel, no frills but clean, neat friendly staff and good value. If you are looking for a "resort" stay somewhere else. The... More

Was a bit hesitant to book this hotel after reading earlier reviews, but we were traveling through and wanted to take in all the sights and it seemed to have the best location for that. We were not disappointed. It is an older hotel, and it is apparent the owners do their best to keep up the place, so realize... More

This is an older style hotel but our balcony had a great view of the Black Hills at sunset. It was the perfect way to relax after a long day of being a tourist! The service was great, but the beds were a little hard. It was great to have a fridge in the room to keep the food from... More

Stayed 4 nights. Close to all attractions. Nice room with balcony, micro, refrigerator, coffee maker. Continental breakfast was a nice surprise. Pool area needs a little maintenance. No late check in, desk closes at 10:30. Elevator also shuts down. Everyone was very friendly. Plan to bring food, drinks on your excursions.

Thanks for the kind comments. As you and other reviewers point out, the pool has "issues" and it now has been closed for repairs. The winter of 2013/2014 started with an early, sudden and deep freeze that resulted in lots of damage in Western South Dakota. This caused numerous pipes in our pool to freeze and we were not able... Stayed five nights. Location is perfect. Close to Main Street of Keystone, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Needles Highway, etc. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Continental breakfast is adequate. Enjoyed our visit to the Badlands.
