Traveling by motorcycle from Wyoming....asked if I could hold room....was told no, once I give card, I am being charged...thats fair and I gave the card...but I asked specifically about the ride from Devils Tower....I was worried about making it all the way to Keystone....Guy told me, 'no problem....I ride that all the time and its an easy ride...you will... Sorry. I didn't mean to be deceptive. Most people who come from Devil's Tower to Keystone come either via I-90 or US385. The route you took was via Newcastle, Wyoming, which is somewhat longer. Had I known you were going that way, I could have warned you about the construction. I also ride and the route and I usually take... More

This was the first hotel my husband and I stayed in on a 5 week USA tour. And we were very pleased with the place! The reservation information was clearly defined (one night's stay charge upon reservation), the hotel was clean, people were friendly, breakfast was good, and the view from our room unbelievably beautiful, even with lots of snow!... We stayed here one night on our way through the area. We stayed at a few other hotels before heading to Yellowstone. The pool was really dirty and had trash in it and it's indoors so all the debris was unusual. The biggest issue I had was black beetles that came out no kidding at 10:30p just as we were... More

As other reviews of other properties have observed, Keystone businesses have been dealing with lots of bugs this year. Unfortunately a few days before you arrived swarms of small black beetles passed through this area and invaded virtually all homes and commercial properties. They were here for only a few days then left. This is not an on-going problem for... More

This is one of the closest hotels to Mt. Rushmore and made it convenient for visiting the landmark both during the day and for the lighting ceremony. The family suite was convenient for a family of 5 - we could put the 3 kids to bed and still have some room/privacy to plan the next day's adventure. This is an... More

The location of this hotel is the first one in when you come from Mt. Rushmore, so the location is pretty good. It is within walking distance to many things including a small adventure park across the street, restaurants, shopping and the Presidential Wax Museum. After reading the reviews, we opted for the slightly larger room with an elevated sitting... More

This hotel is old, not maintained, no hot water for showers, air conditioner did not function and the worst hotel we stayed in during our 18 day trip. It did not help we were there during the Sturgis Motorcycle rally. A complete disappointment!

Dean B, Owner at Roosevelt Inn, responded to this review

Although we regret that this guest believes she has a less than satisfactory experience, we have been unable to replicate the problems she mentioned. No other guests complained about hot water issues and to our knowledge no air conditioners have malfunctioned. Occasionally guests believe the air conditioners have malfunctioned because on some units a setting of 10 is the highest... More

The inn is just beyond the downtown area within walking distance to the stores & restaurants. It is also located on the road to Mount Rushmore and an easy drive to the park. This is an older hotel but very well run. The rooms are nicely furnished. A basic continental breakfast is provided. The inn keepers are very helpful and... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying several nights at the Roosevelt Inn on Cemetery Road in Keystone. Besides being an older hotel, the rooms are clean, the linens are fresh, but the beds are soft. Big Time Pizza, just through the lobby, was very good and serve several different Russian beers. The weather was hot and the... More

Our family with several young children stayed for two days (Jul 27/28). I felt compelled to write a review for the owners after the last few posts. We're traveling x-country from Virgina and were looking for a clean, comfortable, hotel near Mount Rushmore and surrounding attractions. This hotel suited our needs. It's minutes away. It is a dated hotel and... More

There are many other better valued options in the immediate area. Dean and Joanell (sp?) are the WORST customer service persons EVER! Not only was Joanell not pleasant over the phone as I had to change my, she was directly and overtly RUDE. The same was true when I checked in. Granted, they are both old and are over their... More
