I was worried, because I wanted us to stay at a nice, decent hotel while visiting Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse... and I'm used to places like the Hyatt, the Westin etc... something NICE! WELL... I was not dissapointed at all. The rooms have been totally redone and they are very nice for the area. One AWESOME benefit of staying... more

We were on a road trip and after a couple of nights staying in chain hotels this was a welcome change. The whole complex is set about a mile from the charming town of Keystone and a few miles from Mt. Rushmore. From certain rooms George Washington's profile can be seen quite clearly. The rooms are in small outbuilding blocks... more

Perfect late summer/early fall weather was a great bonus. Made reservations based on reading others reviews about the lodge. All were true, great breakfast each morning, well maintained grounds and facilities. After a full day of activities, lack of evening activities wasn't missed. If you like late night snacks though, make you sure you buy them while you're out during... more

The view of Mount Rushmore- well, OK, the side of Washington's head- was still awe inspiring. The included breakfast was very good- more than muffins and coffee. The setting of the resort and the decor makes it feel very luxurious. Don't miss the photos lining the hallways of the black hills then and now. more

Stayed there one night. The view of Rushmore was OK, but bring binoculars. You are miles away so don't expect much of a view. Plan to eat breakfast after the bus people have left in the morning. You can't request a specific room until you get there. more

I and my two parents stayed at the K bar S Lodge as we were touring the many wonderful sites in the surrounding Black Hills region. It is only about a half mile outside of the "cheesy" town of Keystone. It doesn't matter though, the K bar S Lodge is a wonderful world unto itself. It is in an idyllic... more

Lodge is less than a mile from downtown Keystone but the setting makes it seem to be far from the hussle of the town. Rooms are nice... some have balconies overlooking grounds and a distant view of Mt Rushmore. Reception building has a nice lobby where coffee and tea are available along with a large flat screen TV. Breakfast is... more

This is a nice hotel with lovely grounds. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. We had two complaints: The desk person who checked us in was untrained and should not have the front desk responsibility. This is not an easy place to get around. There is a seperate building which is not shown on... more

We spent 4 nights at the K Bar S Lodge the week of September 19th - 23rd. Our room was beautiful and the view of Mt. Rushmore was awsom. Enjoyed the breakfast every morning and watching the deer and turkeys, as well as other wild life. We can hardly wait to go back. more

Booked this hotel on the strength of the Tripadvisor reviews. Stayed two nights in September Would agree with all of the previous reviews. It is a lovely hotel offering a good level of comfort and service in a lovely location. Wild life seen in grounds including deer and turkeys. Set away from the main town of Keystone. The location is... more
