We have stayed here on a few occasions, it;s a friendly and comfortable hotel where the staff are attentative without being pushy. The food is great and ranges from comfort bar suppers to high class restaurant food with loads of choice. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. The best bit is that dogs are welcome. Cant recommend this highly... more

We came here for my husbands 40th after a recommendation from friends. First impressions were good, the public area is well decorated and though we didn't use the library it appeared welcoming. As it was a special occasion I had booked Room No 1 with the fire place and four poster. It was gorgeous. The room is huge, probably one... more

I booked this hotel because it was close to where we needed to be in Comrie and was less than 20 mins walk so that was great. On arrival the receptionist was a bit frosty but maybe she didn't want to be there! Everyone else was friendly though. Plus points: Lovely breakfast, nice little bar area with lovely bar meals... more

We stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary after reading numerous reviews and thought that we had made a good choice. The first night was ok - nothing special but the second was an absolute disaster. It was obvious that the owner had the day off. When our room was made up - we had the one with the open fire... more

After reading reviews on this site my wife and I decided to spend a Saturday here. Things started fairly well - the staff were polite and the hotel tidy. It went downhill from there however. There were only two waiting staff and the hotel was really busy. We were booked for dinner at 7.00 but didn't get seated until nearer... more

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left our stay here was fabulous. The owners really make you feel at home and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Our room was just perfect - if you are planning a visit ask for Room 1. An amazing four poster bed, seating area... more

Have just got back from two nights at the Royal. A lovely hotel with good food and friendly staff. Very busy with locals at weekends but we could relax in the library while we waited on dinner. Lots of quirky pictures throughout the hotel. The room had four poster, sitting area and dressing area. The TV could have been better,... more

This was a last minute two night break. The service and food were very good and th eportions were generous. Unfortunatley the room was shabby and the bathroom was both grubby and had a cracked wash hand basin. Not what we were expecting. more

Simply outstanding staff, room rate includes gourmet dinner and breakfast, great little town. Of all the places we stayed in Scotland, this was the best value by a generous margin. We stayed in fun attic rooms, sloped ceilings, four-poster bed, excellent bath/shower facilities. more
