La Wis Wis is just what the doctor ordered. Half way between Mount Rainier and Mount Saint Helens east side this campground is amazing. Pit toilet only. Water available. Make the trek up to Blue Hole and jump in, if you dare! Try to get a camp site on the river, if you can. Reservations possible.

After travelling all day on our motorcycles, my son and I stayed here for a night. It was easy to find and once there peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. We were situated near the stream surrounded by really tall trees. There was a couple of picnic tables and a fire ring. They even delivered firewood! There was a water supply across... More

We drove through Rainier over Labor Day weekend, and hadn't made camping reservations beforehand (our mistake!). Everywhere in Rainier National Park was completely booked, so we just kept driving. We pulled over at La Wis Wis, and the camp host said they were full, but he knew one camper who was trying to sell his 2nd reservation (due to a... More

Last minute camping plans for Memorial Day weekend, which was supposed to be rainy and cold on the west side of the mountains in Washington State, brought us to this gem of a campground outside of Packwood. We were surprised to find more than one site open, especially since it is supposed to be busy during Packwood's huge swap meet... More

Its hard to review. Campgrounds. The 2 spot i chosen. Were side by side. Shared fire. Its fun with more company. One spot actually. Looks like for one next too it.. inconvenient. Located. But actually. Didn't. Matter. Cause the other was perfect. To share the firepit .. The park hoodoo manager was nice to help find place.

I got bit up! Despite this, the camping location is great. You're right off the river! The campgrounds are clean, but the sites are a tad close together. I was lucky and reserved a good site with some natural privacy screens (aka trees and bushes). The bathrooms were very smelly with the August heat, but we brought a portable camping... More

Excellent sites, great hosts, huge trees, and the sounds of the nearby river made this place awesome! There is no flush toilets or showers, but if you can get passed that and deal with the new pit toilets, you will love this place. The river is really something. I suggest checking out the little 'beach' down by the A loop.... More

We stayed in La Wis Wis the nights of June 29 and 30. We were checking in rather late, 7 pm and worried we wouldn't get a spot. When we arrived we had our choice of spots all very secluded and large. It's a beautiful spot alongside a river. The campground host was very accomodating and friendly, no extra charges.... More
