This is a small three star hotel set in pleasant grounds just off J13 on the M6 motorway. Some traffic noise can be heard from the M6, which is only a mile away, it's audible, but not deafening, so I wouldn't let that put you off staying here. At the back of the hotel is a canal which is scenic... more

We stayed at the Moat House as a base between Wolverhampton and Uttoxeter Racecourses,(both are about 20 mins away). The staff were very helpful and the Hotel extremely comfortable. We had a slight problem with our hot water but this was quickly rectified. The food in the Hotel was excellent .. The restaurant certainly deserves its reviews and two rosettes, as... more

Stayed November 17th for just one night. It was the wifes birthday and we often do this i.e. have dinner out and stay over. Bedroom was very nice, nothing fancy but modern and clean. Lovely position just alongside the canal,in a nice area of Stafford. The service that we loved was the Conservatory Restaurant. We had the Gourmet menu. A little bit... more

Stayed for 1 night between wedding and honeymoon. Booked the 4 poster Paget Suite. Lovely room with beautiful views of the canal. Room spacious and clean. Food fabulous as ever in the restaurant. We have dined in the restaurant before but never stayed overnight. We felt the stay enhanced the trip somewhat. more

We requested additional towels and they appeared within minutes. Only negative they had run out of duck food... more

The worst weekend ever. Friday we arrived the rooms were booked as all inclusive and were put down as room only so had to get that changed. Booked dinner in the restaurant at 9.30pm ordered 4 starters only 3 turned up and 15 minute later the other one turned up. The belly pork dinner turned up and the fat was... more

I have stayed here several times now. The hotel is in an attractive setting. You can see it as you drive along the M6, and it is just out of a small village, next to the canal with its own lake. Rooms are generally OK. I find the best ones are on the 1st floor, away from the M6. I... more

Rooms are very nicely done and the bathrooms are also good. The hotel is in an attractive setting, and althougn the motorway is very close, at least in the winter we weren't disturbed by the noise. The bar food is very good, and there is a reasonable wine list too. We didn't try the restaurant until Saturday, and on Saturday... more
