On the plus side, the breakfast was excellent. However, the accommodation itself was of low quality. We stayed in one of the chalets, with a very small double bed that was roughly equivalent to sleeping on a pile of bricks - in fact, I think the bricks may have been more comfortable. When sitting on the bed, you could feel... More

My wife & l were guests at the wedding and stayed over on the Saturday night. From the moment we arrived to the morning we departed we were made to feel very welcome. The hotel was completely booked with wedding guests on the Saturday. The staff were every efficient throughout the day and evening, with the bartender staying up with a... More

Booked for Sunday lunch on the basis of several recommendations. Pleasant location and atmosphere. Advertised Sunday lunch menu at £17.50 for 2 courses or 21.50 for 3 courses was said to be 'not available' and only more expensive a la carte lunch menu offered. Advertised 'resident pianist' was not there either and piped music stopped when the disc finished. The... More

Beautiful grounds; lovely walks, skiing, cycling but the general accommodation is poor. Our bedroom honked of damp - we later found water leaking from a radiator - not sure when it was last checked. Room was small and the only window looked out onto the service area for kitchen staff - not the nicest of views! However, the one thing... More

Traveling in a foreign country with no set plans can sometimes be scary and disappointing. This was neither. The Lyncombe is a ski resort by winter and a lodge during the summer. You drive up a curvy road to the lodge where you feel like you have been transported back in tine. It has all the character of what you... More

We went for a Sunday night break. Hotel is situated in a beautiful spot and looks as lovely as the photos show. We stayed in one of the chalets as we took our dog along, it was extremely damp smelling in there so much so we couldn't hang our clothes up in the cupboard as this seemed the be dampest... More

Celebrated my birthday at Lyncombe Lodge with romantic dinner for myself and my husband. We keep returning to this delightful venue and are never disappointed. Service was excellent and the food first class. We married here last September and always return for all celebrations. It is a little off the beaten track but tucked up in the woods it is a... More

We Stayed here through a KGB deal and we were well impressed with our 2 night stay. Chalet was clean and bed very comfortable, we ate both nights in the restaurant and the food was amazing! Staff very friendly and helpful. We liked that the hotel was not on a main road and was lovely and relaxing Definitely recommend

Beautifully situated in an excellent position to explore the Cheddar area. Excellent wifi and able to stream tv with no problem (there is a tv in the room) The lodge we stayed in was very clean with every required facility, even individual soap rather than soap dispenser as you so often see now. The lodge we were in allowed us... More

The room was fine enough, clean and bed was pretty comfy. The hotel is about half a mile from main road, so had a really peaceful sleep. Breakfast was average to just below average. The server was a little grumpy, asked for tea, got coffee, not much choice of cold stuff, limited cereal selection etc. English breakfast was just about... More
