I stayed at the Pearse overnight for a do in Bishops Stortford. The main house is solid Victorian but I ended up in a room in one of the more modern extensions - perfectly pleasant but as much Victorian character as a Blackberry. Nothing at all to fault about my room - clean, good choice of hot drinks, comfortable beds... more

Found this Gen by pure chance and now visit on a regular basis. Often take family and friends for the freshly cooked and most delicious Sunday Lunch where you can really taste the difference of only using fresh vegetables and the best quality joints of meat. But what makes this the best venue you can imagine is simple its the... more

We had 4 adults in a quadruple room, and had a wonderful experience. The building has SO much character, and a fascinating history that the staff enjoy sharing. It’s not often that you can stay in such a charming place! I highly recommend the Pearse Hotel, not only for the charm & condition, but also for it’s quick location to... more

I booked a night at this hotel before our flight the next day. We arrived at 10.30pm and rang the bell in reception. Nobody came. We rang the bell again. Still nobody came. We stood there for 15 minutes but nobody seemed to want to check us in! Needless to say we left and found accomodation elsewhere. If this the... more

Pearse house was such an amazing place. even though it it somewhat simple, the staff were ever so friendly and considerate and i felt that i always got what i needed without even asking. The food was lovely and was such great value for what i received. The room was nicely painted and simply, yet indeed what i needed after... more
