My partner booked a room at this guest house as we attended a 21st birthday party in the town. It was perfectly located ( right in the middle of town ). We found the owner David to be a really nice guy, great sense of humour, cant understand why a few people have called him rude ( maybe they lack... More

If you are looking for luxury, dont stay there. If you enjoy authentic, lovely english atmosphere, please do! This hotel is definitely worth a visit. All rooms are different, individually decorated with old wooden beams in walls and ceiling. So charming. When you enter the stairs you would not be surprised to meet Shakespeare in the hallway. This was our... More

A little hard to find but so homely once you get inside. The room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. There is a mini fridge with fresh orange juice, water and a breakfast tray which was very nice. The room had an en suite which was kept very clean. The walls were very thin which was... More

this small central guest house in Bishop's stortford is the right choice if you want to spend a night or more close to Stansted airport avoiding the dreadful all-alike hotels of the neighbourhood You can enjoy all the main facilities of a good hotel but Dave and his mother will Always make you feel like being at home and will... A loverly nights stay, room exudes caracter! One night stay, work related, double room, single occupancy-what luxury! I had a good nights deep sleep-the bed was purrfect- i normally dont sleep so well on soft beds, but this one didnt give my back any greif at all. Couldnt be better located for food, though had fun trying to find it!

You couldn't get a more central location for the town, smallish rooms but more than adequate, comfy and cosy. And bear in mind the age of the proporties they are bound to be small and quirky. The beds are very comfy, lots of continous hot water, all perfect for our three day visit and we'll defo use the Lancaster on... More

This is my second time at this quaint guest house. The owners, Dave and his mother, are both a delight and make you feel so welcomed. Shampoo, conditioner, body cream, cotton discs, ear swabs all available. Breakfast daily replenished (tea, coffee, cereals, etc). Most importantly it is a very clean place in the centre of town. Only slight drawback is... More

The owner David, is such a delight, and makes you so welcome, he does everything possible so you enjoy your stay and feel comfortable. Hey, it's quirky but my room was cosy and comfortable and good value. Great location right in the centre of things. Very pleased with the attention to detail. Plenty of tea, coffee, good shower gels, shampoos etc. right down to QTips and cotton pads. Very thoughtful. Fine for a one or two night business trip on my own.

Well, this is what happens when we ignore bad reviews on Trip Advisor and book anyway! Stayed here because we are pretty easy to please and it was for only for a flying visit. But there was just SO much wrong with this place. Firstly, it is NOT a guest house. A guest house is when somebody lets out rooms... More
