El Rodat is a team of people working for people looking for a place where they enjoy a different way, in contact with the environment. It has evolved over the years looking for the best way to welcome all those who have enjoyed walking through its gardens, its cuisine, its services, its human treatment, its relaxation therapies and so many things that have here Happened. Because for us all the people who have passed by our hotel are the ones who have helped us write the history of this oasis in the middle of the Costa Blanca. Now we are waiting for you to continue writing our story. This is your house. This is your oasis.

We stayed in El Rodat Hotel for doing some culinary visits in the area (michelin star rated restaurants). The restaurant of the hotel, restaurant El Rodat, has one michelin star and was on the list: we reserved a table far in advance to our visit. To our surprise, the day of the dinner we found out that the restaurant was closed, We were not notified of this, which was very weird, as we were actually staying in the hotel... It got worse when the receptionist claimed that we had been notified for sure, by mail, which she would prove to us (at the edge of arrogance). Obviously the proving mail never came... The hotel, at the other hand was nice, clean and quite. Personnel was correct, but not very engaged. Everybody simply does his job... Breakfast was not convincing, but that is probably due to Covid-19 which turned the buffet into a service which the hotel is not used to deliver. It is quite pricy too, compared to the other hotels in the area. So total score for me is average...

My wife and I stayed for two nights. We arrived late Sunday evening to find that no one was on reception. After a 15-20 minute wait the receptionist arrived, explaining that they had been helping another guest. I appreciate that late September is off- season but it gave an unfortunate initial impression. Having said that, our junior suite was nicely appointed and our stay was very good - relaxing and effortless. It was also a disappointment to be told that the Michelin star restaurant doesn’t open on a Monday, however, the specialty rice dishes in the alternative restaurant (known as the cafe) were excellent.

Lovely grand suite with large private terrace and brilliant spa, but I have found all the reception staff disinterested and unhelpful, despite this being my third visit. I am leaving early to go to a different hotel but they insist on charging me for the unused nights, even though I gave notice of my departure the evening before because I was not happy. I get no credit for being a returning customer and only smirking rudeness from reception. This isn't the first year that reception staff have not been all that helpful but I excused it because the hotel is pleasant. Never again.

we stayed at El Rodat for 3 days for a bit of rest and relaxation following a number of weeks of family guests staying with us. we searched for hotels offering Spa treatments and El Rodat looked by far the nicest available. Firstly it is only fair to point out the good parts of our stay. The room we had (junior suite) was very spacious with separate sleeping and rest areas and a very spacious bathroom. the bed was large and very comfortable with a 'pillow menu' to choose from and the bath/shower gave plenty of hot water and pressure. each suite also has a good size terrace (ours on the first floor had a good panoramic view) Staff in the restaurant were excellent, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and genuinely interested in a conversation.we also ate one evening in their Michelin star restaurant having the seafood taster menu, a review for which I will post separately the Spa was very relaxing and the treatments offered were excellent. there were however a number of points that I feel let the hotel down, and as this hotel is on the higher end of the regional pricing, I felt meant that our stay was not good value for money. we booked half board as advertised they have a specialty rice restaurant on site, however, the half board only allows a reduced menu and by the second lunch there was very little else to chose that appealed. Generally, we had an issue with CLEANLINESS. Our room on arrival (late afternoon) was dirty. Dental floss on the bathroom floor, a toenail in the bedroom and a piece of glass that I stepped on shortly after arrival. this and a number of dead bugs that had obviously been swept to the edges of rooms. we immediately informed reception who said this could not be sorted out until the following morning. after room cleaning the following morning, there were still the same bugs but simply swept somewhere else. our terrace was covered with pine needles and again not clean. the website images of the rooms were clearly taken some time ago as in general, the place is looking tired. A hotel of this standard and price, we would also expect tea/coffee making facilities, but these were not on offer. when we asked we did get a kettle but had to source our own tea & coffee. Outside the gardens and pool area were also disappointing. I appreciate the Mediterranean has a lot of insects, but clearly, there is no spraying policy as we were bitten alive in the gardens (our garden at home is sprayed monthly and we have no issues there) also, the pool terrace was not cleaned for the 3 days we were there. The pool itself, we avoided as it looked murky with clear signs of body fat and sun cream suspended in the water. to sum up, we had a very comfortable couple of nights sleep, and the treatments in the spa were very welcome, however, the price of the rooms, drinks prices, and condition of the hotel meant that we felt that this was very overpriced compared to local alternatives and not necessarily good value for money.

The rooms w re Spanish style and spacious, bathroom and room were tip top clean with the necessary amenities. Terrace is somehow outdated and the pool is not popular but our 7yer old was a happy camper when after our mouse hunting she got the chance to jump into a very clean pool. Friendly service and spacious rooms, very correct pricing

As a family we have travelled a lot and we have not come across with a similar situation before. They do not have connected rooms which we knew but they don’t make the effort to provide you with close rooms even if they are available. We ended up staying with small children in quite separated rooms along a corridor. These rooms were 103 and 111. I complained initially and the staff in reception confirmed we will get 103 and 104 next day. Next morning they told us that management didn’t want to change the rooms although they confirmed they were going to. MANAGEMENT someone called Elena, made herself unavailable and asked the staff in reception not to disturb her. So she left us with two small kids in quite long separated rooms not bothering at all. Besides it’s quite old and rusty hotel. The breakfast is a joke. They serve packed crepes and the food options are pretty poor.

Appalling customer service - I recommend you book elsewhere. The rooms are staged and the website displays incorrect imagery. So their website details a beautiful Instagram style of modern design and interiors. It’s completely misleading and false. Please take a look at their website for the Superior Junior Suite and please now take a look at the reality of my image which is where my family checked in yesterday and we paid £330 for a SUPERIOR Junior Suite. We stayed here 10 years ago and the rooms have not changed. The management accepts the website does not display the correct images and they would not meet me to discuss further. In fact they kept telling me the management were not present. So my point is that it’s misleading marketing / the images do not reflect the actual suites so before you decide to book here have a good think. Afterwards we stayed in Airbnb accommodation and the value is much better. The management said there was nothing they would be prepared to do. So they accept they are being dishonest by luring you into this false presentation and guests are fooled by curated images that do not reflect the image style of the hotel which at best is something like from the 1990’s. Its very disappointing as it could be great. All they offered to me was a full refund but given it was 5pm and it’s the middle of Summer everything was booked up. So please think before you book. Today is the 4th August 2019. I would like to say that the restaurant staff offer an excellent service, the food is good and the pool area is relaxing. Hope this review helps you decide but I would not recommend this hotel. This was not luxury and I will now look to report the hotel to the tourism profession for not upholding the standards.

Rooms OK, facing north so quite dark, steps down to access. Breakfast expensive for what is provided. Unfortunately cannot guarantee a double bed which is a problem. The Michelin restaurant is worth a visit

Rooms- The photos on the website are completely staged and not accurate at all. No scatter cushions or throws just bland and boring. The room is clean which is important though. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything. The TV is tiny and you cannot watch it from the bed. Spa - We went to use the spa they tried to charge us €75 per person!! They were trying to rip us off as the actual cost of the spa to guests is €15pp. I think it’s bad you have to pay at all considering its a spa hotel. You have to wear a stupid hair net too! We didnt use the facilties in the end as i was so annoyed at them trying to pull the wool over eyes on the fee. They also said the spa was closed in the afternoon so you could only use it till 2pm. Breakfast - We got there at 10.10 (the hours are between 8.30 - 10.30) and there was hardly any food left. The pancakes were nice and the fruit but the hot food is very minimul. Again breakfast is an extra cost and personally i dont think its worth the money. I would not recommend this hotel.

Although I only stayed here for one night, it was a delight. Lovely location away from the town centre (although only 10 mins in a cab), fabulous amenities, awesome food and very friendly staff. The hotel has a lovely heated outdoor pool too and staying out of season certainly made it nice and quiet (and good value). Highly recommended.
