but the early morning work on the docks stopped all possibility of sleep after 6.30am! We were not able to close the windows as there was no air conditioning and it was far too hot. Very tired in the morning! Without this we would have given a first rate report. I guess the answer is Aircon as it is unlikely... More

We have just completed a week long tour of Northern Spain staying at Parador hotels along the way. All the other Paradors have been magnificent refurbished monasteries castle or the like. This was a little disappointing as it was a1960s built hotel, looking fairly drab from the outside. That said, the interior was of the quality that you would expect... More

This Parador is a one-nighter. A stop-off to somewhere else. That said, it's location overlooking the water is excellent and the walk to town is about 5 minutes. There is free parking and WiFi and the staff are very good. It was clean and the breakfast was very acceptable. We had a lovely room (101 I think) which was quiet... More

We stayed at this Parador at the end of our trip visiting Rias Altas. We picked it because we like Paradores and you know what you are going to get. This Parador is not a charming one in a Castle, Pazo or similar, but a building built for being a Parador in the 70s' I guess, which differs from the... More

We actually didn't stay night here, just ate in restaurant. It is well situated, with beautiful ground & surroundings. The view is spectacular. The food was fine but expensive. The hotel clerk was reasonably helpful, but impersonal in contrast to the other places we had eaten/stayed.

We recently stayed here after arriving by ferry in Gijon on our way to Santiago do Compostela. We arrived fairly late but found the staff very helpful and our room was excellent with a good view over the estuary. The evening meal was good but expensive - the breakfast was very good. This was our first experience of a Parador,... More

This Parador is relatively modern, I have to say I prefer the older ones, ie 15th century Modern Paradores, normally 20th century tend to lack all charm, generally the onbly thing they have going for them are the views, this Parador is no different, it has great views of the estuary, is a stones throw from the city center and... We stayed in quite a few Paradores and the one in Ribadeo isn't one of the best ones. On arrival, we waited some time in reception for someone to check us in. The person who did show up was off-hand and not very welcoming. We found our room, which was nice with a glazed balcony overlooking the estuary and port.... More

A modern Parador, rather bland inside in a featureless town. There is an area to the right of the Parador as you come out, with a park and bars and cafes, which is quite nice. The terrace, bar and restaurant all face the harbour and a pretty little town on the opposite bank.Staff are polite and friendly and the rooms... More

As the Paradors in both Pontevedra and Vilalba have ditched the proper restaurants, we took the opportunity to drive over to Ribadeo’s Parador for lunch, which was heaven. Ribadeo has little to recommend it except wonderful positioning looking over the river (we were given a window seat with what can only be called a panoramic view up and down the... More
