My wife and I have recently spent four nights at the Hotel Mendez Nunez, and were impressed - as our son is working in the area we'll probably return. The location is excellent, being in the centre of the old town. Parking is in a public car park, a five minute walk away - guests at the hotel can park... More

We stayed here for one night so it was only a brief stopover. Although we had booked a double room we got a suite with seating (and possibly a sofa bed but I didn't check), a full bathroom and a separate shower room with toilet. Rooms are modern and comfortably appointed. Could not have asked for more on an overnight... More

Don't get me wrong. The hotel was fine. Rooms were a nice size. Clean. Comfy enough but spartan. No bar soap or toiletries. If you decide to take a bath you must first lather up and then soak as the dispenser is high up on....oh never mind! And they call this 4 Stars???? The hotel advertises free wi-fi but the... More

When we arrived at the hotel, the two attendants were very warm and friendly and helped us find the place where to return the rental car. They also recommended some very nice restaurants. the rooms are very modern, clean and well appointed. Very quite and cool and a great bed. I highly recommend this hotel. It was also not expensive... Don't bypass Lugo, stay on this Hotel situated right on the center. Excellent value for money for a **** Hotel (FOUR). Lugo is a roman town surrounded by roman walls, beautiful Cathedral, no need to pay to get in. Excellent bars and restaurants at very good prices with FREE tapas. The reception at the hotel is excellent, thanks to the... More

Not only is this hotel in the center of Lugo and all the historical sites within walking distance, but it is a very comfortable place to spend a few days. The hotel is nicely decorated, the staff is very efficient and helpful and the rooms are nice and comfortable. If you are accustomed to luxury, obviously, this is not the... More

This last February I came back to Mendez Nuñez for the fourth time in my life. I can't think of a better hotel in this town, in fact I have never cared for finding another one, Mendez Nuñez has everything I needed. The hotel was recently upgraded to four stars that were seriously worthy since la familia Diaz is in... More

If your priority is on location, this hotel will certainly fit the bill. It is within the city walls. However, if you want some quality, skip this one. Still difficult to imagine this hotel having four stars! I would be hard pressed to give it even three stars. The dark halls, paper-thin walls, antiquated shaggy carpet, squeaky doors, hot rooms... I stayed at the hotel for three nights. My room was a bit small asI guess I was assigned a single room, ok for a sightseeing trip but not that comfortable if you need to spend time working in your room. Must point out the good and cheap room service
