We stayed in Lugo for one night at this small, family run hotel full of Roman memorabilia and other eclectic antiques and collectibles. It was set right next to the old Roman walls encircling the old town of Lugo. The hotel itself was okay although the room was quite basic. But, the noise level was just unacceptable as it was... We walked El Camino Francais, and while in Finisterre, we met Pilgrims that we had met on "The Way". They told us that they had taken a wrong turn and ended up in Lugo Spain. After listening to their glowing description, we decided to include Lugo in our after Pilgrimage tour of Spain. We booked the Pazo de Orban from... More

This converted palace just inside the Lugo Roman wall is a unique and eclectic refuge. The hotel is generously decorated with a mixture of antiques, curios and collectibles making a visit here a truly unique experience. We have stayed at Pazo de Orban several times and have always found the staff friendly and helpful, they are proud of their hotel... More

We got a lovely surprise turning through the city walls in Lugo - after ignoring the no entry sign as instructed. Pazo de Orban is down a quite side street with a private car park which is important inside Lugo. The rooms are lovely with a huge TV, large comfortable bed and in our case massive bathroom. Whilst the Pazo... More

We stayed in a standard room, 20sqm, really really excellent. Parking right beside hotel. Hotel has real character and right beside the city walls. Mere seconds from tapas / restaurants. Things to watch for .... Getting to hotel by car is "exciting" as you actually drive through a pedestrian arch and around a couple of narrow streets which is a... More

Lovely little converted palace right by the city wall, and quite easy to get to if you know how. Unfortunately we slavishly followed the directions offered by Google Maps and ended up in a car park only a short distance away, but in a distinctly dodgy part of town peopled by shady looking characters. Once we were in the hotel’s... More

This is definitely one of my favourite hotels of all time. From the friendly welcome by the owner and his young son (great English by the way..), to the clever and tasteful blend of varied interior designs- antique, art deco, modern, rustic, eccentric; to the position, ...We had the BEST room with shuttered windows opening directly overlooking the wonderful town... We were 6 people travelling in large "people carrier" so reaching the hotel in this was tricky! There is a new car park next to the hotel, however you need to drive through a small roman arch to reach it. It can be done easily in a car, we managed it in our Mercedes 'tank' but it was a challenge.... More

Loved this hotel. How to describe it? Maybe 'eclectic' will do. How else can I describe the decorations? Old trumpets on the breakfast room wall! My husband walked in and grabbed his camera and I lost him for about an hour as he wandered around taking pics. I'm glad I'm not the person doing the dusting, but hey .. it... More

We loved the hotel for its historical features, the superb room with a comfortable bed they upgraded us to and of course the location close to shops, bars and the Roman wall and the great cathedral. Parking is right opposite, turn right when on the city road close to the hotel.
