We stayed here for one night and arrived in Zafra in the midst of a Mayday Fiesta, which was an interesting experience ! The hotel is a traditional old family house, beautifully converted into a very comfortable hotel . Our room was gorgeous and The staff were friendly and helpful . We pre booked parking in a nearby underground secure... More

Actually they were more than met. My room was charming and spacious. Plenty of hot water, a comfortable bed, unlike some of the boards I have been sleeping on. Breakfast was good, variety of food on offer. Hotel Staff were friendly and provided assistance with directions. I would stay here again.

We were on our way to Merida and decided to stay here for a night out on the Friday This seemed an interesting place and central so booked as good value at 70 euros parrking is awkward but managed (ask hotel first) and nice reception with lots of old photos of the area - previously owned by a bull farmer... We stayed 1 night here in Zafra in February 2015 and loved it. We arrived by taxi from the train and were shown into a huge bedroom and very large bathroom, both very well appointed. The bed was large and very comfortable. The staff at all times were very friendly and it was like walking into some palatial residence with... More

We booked a 2 nights stay here way back in February and were allocated rm 205 overlooking the charming patio garden after an exchange of emails with a helpful lady. We never got to meet her as she was on maternity leave when we arrived. We had had a busy day, arriving by train from another part of the Extremadura... More

What a terrific recently restored historic building to stay in. We were able to safely park the motorbike in the beautiful back garden. The room was lovely, clean and well appointed. The sun terrace has great views of Zafra and the surrounding mountains. We had a nice breakfast in the plush garden. Worth a visit!

Our second , delightful stay here. A lovely old town mansion, lovingly restored, appearing as though the family is still in residence. Pictures, artefacts, decorative porcelain & many photos of Bull-fighting & the rearing of fighting bulls maintain the Ducal atmosphere. The bedrooms are on 3 floors surrounding an open, but glazed, central patio. An ancient library is open to view... More

The hotel is unique and each room individually themed. The Palacio was sympathetically restored in 2005. Bedrooms and bathrooms are large and well heated, the bedding particularly good. The staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was poor, especially as located in Extremadura, where Iberico ham is famous. However the fresh orange juice and coffee were good. It would be good... The location is on a narrow cobbled road in the old town which was all very quiet in late November. We had a minor difficulty getting there because although the sat nav found the road it was one way and I had to dive into the maze of narrow roads and eventually ask for directions. The staff were all very... More

We've stayed several times in Zafra, which we've used as a central location for touring the Extremadura. This Hotel added an interesting dimension to our experience of the area. Located in an old building previously owned by a wealthy bullfighting family, it offers a dozen or so rooms each with a unique character and charm, but with a pleasantly luxurious... More
