The staff was nice but they were here to sell rooms only. When I called the hotel to reserve the room I was given a different rate. I was also told if there was an "indoor pool and hot tub". This place reminded me of the "I Love Lucy" episode where the cast stayed in a hotel and the trains coming by shook the place like an earthquake! This wasn't THAT bad, but it sure made it difficult to get laid without the constant interruption of train cars getting slammed around. There is simply too much furniture in the rooms, we had a king room however there was no room to move around. Agree with previous reviews that noise all night from the railway did not help one sleep but there again I don't sleep that well in a hotel. My room was quite comfortable and nicely decorated, BUT the never-ceasing screeching in the next-door train yard made sleep impossible. We travel through Barstow at least twice a year and always stay here. The front desk staff is the friendliest we've ever encountered. They are willing to go above and beyond to meet special requests. They always remember us and we certainly remember them. more
