Plasencia is on the western side of Spain and we used this Parador on our way north to Santander. It was once a monastery and is still kept in a beautiful style in keeping with it's history in the old town. Great bedroom. Good breakfast. We eat out in the old town square which was very lively.

You will be pleasantly surprised at this little (actually large) gem off the beaten tourist track. The historic building was once a convent and retains much of the original charm and character. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and in tune with the character of the building. The hotel is in the center of the small town and an easy... More

I like a nice hotel with all the modern amenities as much as the next person. But I also travel for unique experiences. Staying at this parador is such an experience. An opportunity to stay in a historic property thick with atmosphere. I would like to say that the staff here is very professional, both at the front desk, and... More

Plasencia, and for that matter the whole of Extremadura, unfortunately, is not in the main rout of tourists visiting Spain. Too bad, as the whole area is the cradle of what made possible what today is the whole of the Americas. The land of the conquistadors and early settlers. The old city has this extraordinary palace/monastery converted into Parador. It... More

Impressive historic building (or I should say stet of intricated buildings), very well renovated and perfectly located in the (almost fully) pedestrian center of Plasencia. Very quiet. The hotel is really impressive, it is really like visiting an old castle or a museum ... and you sleep there ! The inner, historic city of Plasencia is a real pleasure to... More

We spend a night in the beatifull Parador and we highly recommed anybody coming to Plasencia to either stay here or at least visit. The XV century cloister at the center of the building is just unique and takes you back centuries, fantastic atmosphere. The staff is really attentive and customer friendly. This is one of the best paradores we... More

Delightful building, and wonderful end to our "ruta", a 7 night package of stays in Paradores. Each hotel has its own charm. Staff in Plasencia very pleasant, and food good. Would highly recommend a trip out to the Monfrague National park. We hired a guide to show us the amazing birds.

We nearly always break our journey from Santander to the Algarve at Salamanca but were delighted with this new, to us find. Plasencia is an atmosperic town and the Parador is right in the centre, perfect for having a wander to stretch the legs after a drive. The rooms and the food were perfect although we did not have breakfast... More

We booked this place because it suited our travel plans, driving from Santander to the Algarve. The journey is approx 1000km and Plascenia is 500km fromSantander, about 6 or 7 hours.. We have not stayed in a Parador before, so for those who dont know about them, thry are historic buildings like castles, monastries, palaces which have been turned into... More

We stayed here for two nights to visit Plasencia. The hotel is very luxurious and has kept many of the ancient details. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The only complaint was the WiFi connection was not able to work at all during one day. The other day it was fully operational. The staff was also polite and... More
