My husband, my 14-year-old son and I recently stayed with our friends at the Aiguaclara hotel in Begur and totally loved it. We enjoyed everything about this hotel including its unique decor, location and food. Joan and Clara treat you like close friends and do everything to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. On our last day Clara served breakfast... more

We only stayed one but wished we could have stayed for longer, Clara and Joan made my husband and I and our little dog very welcome. The rooms were large airy and although minimalistic very comfortable. There were a lot of home comforts, including TV, DVD airconditioning in the room. An honesty bar is available and one can help oneself... more

"The worst holidays I've ever had". They were my first holidays in my own country, as my child is only 4 months and didn't want to travel abroad yet. However, it was not a positive experience. No reception at lunch time and night. Only one key per room which can't be kept anywhere due to its size. No room service.... more

My partner and I had only 6 days to spend in Barcelona, and we are so glad that we took a couple of those days to take the 2 hour bus ride to Begur and stay at Aiguaclara. I have never felt so welcomed and at home so immediately. Clara and Joan, the hosts were so kind and warm and... more

I travel a lot, and I can honestly say that I've never stayed at a hotel that made me sadder to leave than was the case when my husband and I stayed for four nights at the Aiguaclara Hotel in Begur. We are already planning to return and have told friends about this perfect gem of a hotel. I worked... more

We ended up booking last minute and as a result, the only room that was available was the smallest room. It was ground level and faced the street, so it was a bit noisy. The room was average. The bed was quite uncomfortable though - every time my husband made the tiniest movement, I would feel the bed reverberate! Clara... more

Begur is a quaint town and perfect if you want a break away from the city. Chanced upon the hotel while surfing and pictures depicted it to be an ideal place to rest and relax. Wasn't surprised when I checked in (to the junior suite - Aiguaclara). In fact, I was blown away and the photographs on sites didn't do... more

We stayed here because of the reviews on this site but found the hotel even more special than anticipated. What a perfect place. It is not luxury, just so very lovely and comfortable. The rooms are beautiful, big windows opening to the sites of the ancient town. You are staying in an old home and it feels it but has... more

The exceptional charm of this quiet boutique hotel begins with its wife-and-husband owners, Clara and Juan, two very warm people who greet you with a kiss on each cheek and then proudly show you around their 19th century mansion turned hotel with whimsically and elegantly decorated rooms featuring 15-foot-high ceilings, tall windows, crystal chandeliers, carved wooden shutters, and balcony (if... more

We enjoyed a great few days at Aiguaclara. You are given a welcome that is genuine and Clara and Joan make you feel that you matter to tham as an individual, not just another guest. We had an excellent, airy room with views up to the castle. Bed was comfortable, shower excellent, decor simple but interesting and elegant. We enjoyed... more
