As other reviewers have noted, it is past its prime and could do with a refurbishment. It is well run, the staff are friendly and efficient and the castle is magnificent. The rooms are clean and spacious, but it is getting a bit frayed around the edges. As others have also noted, the restaurant is average at best. There was... More

A beautifully restored castle with a comfortable room, good facilities, and regional cooking. Cobbles, steps, long corridors; yes, it's a big castle. Reception was friendly and courteous and spoke good English. The breakfast was excellent, evening meal good (a la carte), waitresses pleasant even the older one with the sad face. They were patient with my attempts at Spanish, which... More

Other recent reviews have been pretty critical of this parador, but we'd like to refute them - we had an excellent stay and would highly recommend this location. But here's why - yes, there is a cobblestone square at the entrance to the castle and a set of steps into the main 'keep'. But this is a castle for goodness... More

We chose this particular historical parador for a fabulous experience of sleeping in a medieval castle. The castle is so impressive from a distance, we were so excited and could not wait to get there. Through this pretty town, past the imposing cathedral. The castle is approached by slowing driving up a little steep street, Calle Mayor and the castle is... More

The parador hotels never seem to get it right & it's mainly the staff who are after all civil servants! The setting is great but the atmosphere and service in the hotel was very poor. Staff looked and sounded disinterested. As for the food and restaurant well what a nightmare. We had the starters which were bland and awful. Followed... More

Stayed here on an MSL motor cycle tour of the four corners of Spain, excellent choice of hotel, food was not too good but a formal complaint soon resolved that even though the staff had a job to smile. Good location (you can't miss it) but the cobbled access is worrying on a big bike with short legs but all... More

Siguenza is a pleasant town, and the cathedral has a number of hidden treasures. There is little that is memorable about the parador which is a rather odd place. If you are expecting something ancient and enchanting you may well be disappointed as it is largely a 1990s construction. From start to finish it has a state run air about... More

This is a wonderful refurbished castle. Room was lovely, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and the communal room was huge, quiet and well appointed. A short walk into the lovely village as well. Highly recommended.

So the title says the most important part, this really is a stunning hotel. It has been beautifully restored and cared for, and looks over the pretty little town of Siguenza. The only problem is that it dines out entirely on it's style, and unfortunately lacks a little in substance... I don't want to sound like I'm down on the... More

When we arrived and drove up to the hotel it was like going back in time. The castle itself was breathtaking and the location superb. If disabled climbing the very steep steps to the reception from the disabled bay mite be problematic. At least 12 very steep steps. Once in it was still a lot of different levels constantly going...
