We got to camp well after dark. Driving around the loop looking for a nice sight was no easy task. Make sure you use a red flash light so not to disturb your neighbors. Be careful, to make sure you get a flat surface. Many camp sights are angled and have a natural drainage some strait through the middle of... More

Good store where you can buy ice, microbrews, and a huge variety of other things. Café also close by with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Ranger station open at campground from 5-8PM to get tour tickets for next day. Mesa Verde basically is a protected archeological site, so expect more tours and limited hiking (but Petroglyph Point hike from Spruce... More

showers, laundry, store, gasoline available and that is great. Bathrooms are small, no hooks, but after 5 days of vault toilets these were fantastic. The showers were fairly decent-the 3 different rooms we used however had either frigid or boiling water, no middle ground. if you have a trailer, you can leave it in the store parking lot, as you... As stated, only campground within park & it costs $28 per night for a tent site! That is crazy expensive mainly b/c the ash hadn't been cleaned out of our fire ring, there was litter we had to pick up before settling in too, and the bathrooms while clean, could be updated. No hooks beside the sink, just a small... More

This campground offered everything we could need and more. Beautiful campsite with great views. Nice shower facilites. The grocery store offered all the essentials - including a fantastic selection of Colorado craft beer. Diesel fuel was available. Awesome hiking trails. Can't wait to go back!

Overall this was a decent place to camp. We had site 31 in the tent only loop. It had afternoon shade and a food storage box. However, we were lucky to get that one. Most of the tent only spots are tiny and right on top of each other with no shade at all. The free, open 24 hrs a... More

We stayed in this campground in July, and it was fine. There were a lot of campsites that looked pretty on top of each other, but we were lucky to stumble onto a beautiful, private site. We could barely see other tents. The picnic table was in full sun, but we tied a tarp over it and then it was... More

We got here early off season so had a decent pick of sites. We managed to get a private one surrounded by bushes so we were pretty sheltered. Bathrooms were clean and there was even wifi and a decent shop. There were also showers which were alright powerful and hot and spacious. There are some walks that start from the... More

Morefield Campground is the only campground within the park boundaries of Mesa Verde National Park. Taken over by private company Aramark, the group hasn't done much to improve the sprawling campground 5 mi within the NP on the main road to archaelogical sites.. Although pricey by comparison to standard camping fees, the sites do not seem to be maintained or... More

This was our last stop on a Colorado road trip and it was definitely not the highlight of our adventure. Around $16 to enter the park and then $28 for a basic tent site!!! That is more than the Rocky Mountain park charged!! We wanted a tent only area and there were many options, I recommend the Zuni loop, we... More
