We didn't care of this campground, but loved the rest of the park. The campground is outsourced to a vender and not run by the national park system. Our site was overgrown with weeds. The fire pit wasn't really a fire pit but more like a grill on the ground. No bear boxes available.... and there are bears active in... More

I just read a rather prickly review of this campground. Yes, it is pricey, but for our 32$ a night we got a lovely campsite between bathrooms and capstone on the back loop (don't recall name) which made for quick walks. The store is relatively well stocked, but is you want more you can always hit Cortez for supplies. Mmm,... More

The campground is located about 4 miles inside of Mesa Verde right in the woods. This was our 3rd stop on our Grand Circle Tour. They do have full hookups but you will need an adapter if you have 50 AMPs. I found out the hard and this was my 1st trip in an RV. We survived quite well as... More

Out of 400 poorly maintained sites, only a few are ever filled. Wonder why that is? Could it be the poor value at $42 per night for one of the few electric sites. The showers were tepid, no hot water. The Wifi in the campground doesn't work although they proudly advertise it is free. Zero bars... The camp store staff... More

The price was a little high but all the camp sitesnear Mesa Verde National Park were about the same. The sight have room between sights, bathroom near each group of sights, and a bank of free showers up by a laundry room (which has tables and outlets). The grocery store price are high for most things (ice is good) but... More

We visited many of the National Park campgrounds throughout the Utah, Colorado, Arizona, California, Oregon, and Nevada. Why the price here is 50%+ higher than anywhere else I don't get ($30.00). When I asked why, they blamed the Park System and said their amenities were better than anywhere else....I disagree. The sites were OK but very close together, the toilet... More

We stayed for one night at this campground with a 34’ travel trailer in a full hookups site. The good: The sites were well spaced out, clean and in a vegetated area. Good proximity to the entrance and visitor center. Gorgeous area with some shade and beautiful stars. Quite The bad: I had read online that you make a reservation... More

The visitor center is gorgeous and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Campsites are a few miles inside the national park entrance. If you do not have a reservation, proceed to the general store to book and pay for your site. You select your own site. First come, first serve. Not a tremendous amount of shade, if you are... More

This is the most convenient place to camp near the cliff dwelling, though it is still another 20 something miles (about 35-40 minutes) into the park where the dwellings are. We had a nice spot for our motorhome with trees surrounding us. There was a bathroom right around the corner from us, there was at least 3 in our loop.... More

This campground is inside the park, which makes it conveniently located. Free showers and laundromat are available, but they are not within walking distance of the rv sites, which, for our family with four young children, made them unusable. Once we had our site chosen, the vehicle leveled, and the stuff unpacked, it wasn't practical to pack it all up... More
