We visited Mesa Verde in mid-October. Portions of the services closed the day before we arrived, which left one loop open for camping. We did self check in. Nice, clean campsites with picnic table and fire ring. We brought our own wood. (I think due to our late season arrival, there was none for sale. I suspect you can purchase... More

We were actually pleasantly surprised by this campground – even though it’s huge it’s still quite scenic and there are trees between the sites. We were even lucky to see deers walking around. It’s a bit overpriced and the showers and other facilities are located at the entrance, far away from the actual sites.

More primative than most, but it felt lovely to have some privacy for once and be really out in nature. Toilets are sparce but basically clean, sites are clean and well maintained as is the area surrounding it. We did go right at the end of the season just to note but would absolutely stay here again if we could.

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-September in the Zuni Loop tent section and loved it. We had made a reservation and check in was a breeze which we may not have needed. We were allowed to choose our own site and settled on one near a bathroom. The site itself was down several steps, level, shaded and had... More

We only stayed one night but it's our new favorite. We stayed on the Apache loop next to a tree. Our spot had a fire pit and a wide open field behind it. It was so quiet and dark we could see every constellation with perfect clarity. Bliss! The store has great groceries including elk burgers and sausage. What a... More

This is a great site with quick access to the park. Everything at our RV site was perfect and no complaints. The site was clean. We did not use the fire pit nor the bathrooms. Again, couldn't ask for a better location.

We thought this campground was in a great spot, beautiful surroundings and well planned. The check in process was easy and informative. We tented and were able to select our own spot. We took one close to the bathroom, but it was still private and quiet. We had room for our rather large tent, the table was in good shape,... More

We tented here - and loved it! The staff was amazingly friendly! I've visited many campgrounds, and these folks were by far the best we've ever had. The sites were level, scenic, and just far enough from other campers for some privacy. The restrooms were clean and there were plenty of showers. The laundry facility had plenty of washers and... We didn't care of this campground, but loved the rest of the park. The campground is outsourced to a vender and not run by the national park system. Our site was overgrown with weeds. The fire pit wasn't really a fire pit but more like a grill on the ground. No bear boxes available.... and there are bears active in... More

I just read a rather prickly review of this campground. Yes, it is pricey, but for our 32$ a night we got a lovely campsite between bathrooms and capstone on the back loop (don't recall name) which made for quick walks. The store is relatively well stocked, but is you want more you can always hit Cortez for supplies. Mmm,... More
