If you want to stay in the middle of Mesa Verde National Park, this is the place to stay. That being said, do NOT expect one of the grand National Park lodges such as the Ahwahnee, Old Faithful Inn, etc. Instead, consider this at best a mid-range option such as the Yosemite Lodge. Basic but clean accommodations. Smallest shower ever... More

If you are looking to stay in heart of the national park, this might do. We visited at the end of the season when half of the lodge was closed (possibly the newer part). It was very quiet, but the facilitates are very basic to say the least. The restaurant however is good. Nevertheless, it was reasonably clean and definitely... More

After reading some of the reviews I didn't expect a whole lot but was pleasantly surprised. My room was inviting, decorated in a pleasant Southwestern decor. It was rather small but not a problem as I was alone. Having an unobstructed view of the sunset & sunrise was a bonus. Dinner in the Metate Room was excellent with a gorgeous view.... More

My husband and I traveled to Mesa Verde for a 2-night stay in October, and after reading reviews we were prepared for a rustic, not-so-clean experience. But ... we really wanted to stay in the heart of the park, and the Far View is the only option. After the 5-6 hour drive from Albuquerque, and the 35 minute drive after... More

We stayed here in early October on our road trip in the southwest. We had a south facing room close to the main building so we had a glimpse of the sunset and also the colorful morning sunrise. We found the room to be smaller than average but it had a nice patio to sit and take in the view.... More

At our age, the lodge was a more comfortable option than camping, and it also had the advantage of being inside the park. Double standard room was fine, and it was located near the lodge so it had a good view toward the east that avoided the parking lot. Room was clean, bed comfortable, and everything worked (perhaps the heat... More

They say it themselves on their website, it's very basic. But now that I've stayed there, I feel they use being in a National Park as an excuse for the dump it basically is. Why is it okay for a hotel to be a dump just because it is in a NP? It needs updating, big time! Squeekie beds, no... More

We stayed at the Far View Lodge for one night in October 2014. The lodge has a great location within the park but other than the location there is not much to recommend about this property. We stayed in a kiva king room. The room was OK, nothing special, nothing terribly wrong. The room was very quiet as we had... More

We stayed at this hotel in Oct 2014 when visiting Mesa Verde. At this time of the year one part of the hotel is closed as is part of the Mesa Verde national park, so i can't comment on that. The hotel is very well placed in the park itself. It's more of a motel really and clearly in need... More
