Enter park before 7pm as they lock the gates. Its 15 miles up a winding road to the place. No TV, yes to WIFI. Great views even in the back part of the property. It makes a central location to do your visiting of the park. Restaurant (Matate) and bar with entertainment on site for dinner, and down the road... More

We have stayed in this park hotel 4 times while visiting park; otherwise you spend a lot of travel time going in and out of park. Staying in the park allows you early morning and evening experiences. Across from lodge is Far View Terrace cafeteria style restaurant. Large portions, good food and good prices. If you desire fine dining the... More

The Far View Lodge is much like the hotels in Yellowstone. Very comfortable and charming, but no television. The view on your balcony is very beautiful and restful. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this place is for you. No hustle and bustle. No nightlife! We loved our stay here. We slept with the windows open and enjoyed... More

Having entered the park, you have to complete a 15 mile switchback road up to the Registration Area. Our cabin, a double near the back of the lodge, was just perfect. television was not available which suited us just fine. WiFi was free, as was all the toiletries and coffee, 'fridge, lovely shower room plus a beautiful balcony for evening... More

This is an unusual hotel which maximises its stunning location. We had a lower floor room with an uninterupted view of the National Park. Although the rooms are not particularly fashionably decorated, they were comfortable and adequate. The walls were thin in the rooms but this wasn't a problem. Some people have commented on the lack of TV but we... More

This hotel location is fabulous! I would say this is a very special place but not for the person who wants a spa hotel. This hotel is for someone who wants to see the National Park and tour the area with well qualified personnel. Ruth was a wonderful tour guide-highly recommend her tour. The night supervisor Nathan was wonderful as... More

It is really worth staying in the park because it is a long drive between the entrance of the park and the hikes. You may have a very good view but in our room, the only view we had was on another building. We were in Kiva rooms and I was surprised because the ones (we had two connecting rooms)... More

If you aren't a camper, the Far View Lodge is the next best place to stay at Mesa Verde National Park (actually, it's the only place to stay in Mesa Verde). The Lodge is well run, and what it lacks in amenities (no TV, dodgy Internet) it more than makes up for with the amazing views--every room has a balcony... More

I cannot believe the poor reviews by some regarding this property. This is inside a National Park and why a TV is required is beyond me. What were they thinking? The check in personnel(Ramona and Linda) were great-helpful-informative and very pleasant. We had a room on the front tier which was a small amount more and worth every cent. The... More

Our experience with this hotel was unfortunate. We stayed there towards the end of April, shortly after the hotel opened for the season. A few of the problems could be attributed to this, but most of them were due to the design of the rooms and a lack of needed upgrading. Nothing, however, can explain our experience with dinner in...
