The next closest hotel adds an hour each way to get to the sites in this park, which are spectacular. Rooms must have been refreshed recently -- beds are very comfortable, rooms are nicely appointed, even the WiFi is decent. All rooms have nice balconies with chairs and a table and terrific views. Get a "Kiva" room -- these are... More

Looking at other reviews here, I guess we stayed in a kiva room, for slightly lower than the list rate with a AAA discount. We were so pleasantly surprised. The views are outstanding, and you do save time by not having to drive all the way into the park each day. Our room was very clean. It had a wood... More

From the park entrance of Mesa Verde National Park, the road is a 15 mile ascent of hair pin turns and spectacular views to Far View Lodge. The setting is outstanding as you are literally on the mesa top with 360 degree panoramic views. The Lodge itself is a three level wooden building set unobtrusively into the landscape. The rooms... I had to book the expensive room because they were the only ones with air conditioners and it was in the 90's each day. However I discovered that they had the loudest most ineffective air conditioning unit I have ever experienced in a hotel. It was so loud we could not sleep the first night. We had to turn it... I loved this hotel. It was very peaceful to sit on the balcony and just take it all in. Also close to the cliff dwellings, but not able to see them, that when we arrived at Spruce House in the morning, there was one 2 other people there, so we were able to explore with no one else in the... More

Far View Lodge provides the very best location while visiting Mesa Verde National Park. The accommodations were pleasant and nicely updated. The bathroom while small was not a problem. I loved that each room has its own small balcony equipped with a small table and two chairs. I spent two nights at Far View Lodge and enjoyed spending my evenings... More

For the $, you don't get a lot. However, the point of staying here is to be inside the National Park and close for tours/sightseeing. The road into Mesa Verde is long and winding. The views and history inside the park are amazing! The room is pretty basic. I wish I could say that cleanliness was a 5, but that... More

The lodge is aptly named. Views from the lounge (which allows children when accompanied by parents), restaurant and our room were sweeping. The venue is located within the Mesa Verde National Park and is the only hotel within the park. The nearest town, Cortez is a 25-30 minute drive down the mountain. Luckily this hotel is great despite it's monopoly.... More

Far View Lodge is in the best location for visiting Mesa Verde. Very serene with deer grazing below our balcony and panoramic views of the mountains. We chose the room without a/c in June and found it to be very pleasant. It gets cool at night. The Metarte Restaurant is a 5 star with amazing food. We enjoyed elk and... More

Little pricey for the price, but we got to do get ahead start on the morning tours. The hotel is about 15 miles inside the park, we wanted to do the twilight tou of cliff palace, but note tickets are limited and only avaible online, so plan ahead. We were able to go to the camp grounds and enjoy their... More
