This is one of my favorite places that I've stayed. It was quiet and clean and the decor and furnishings added a lot to our enjoyment. The view from our private deck was beautiful and an ideal place for an evening drink or morning coffee.

We arrived late in the afternoon and were greeted warmly. We were too late to join in the guided tours, but were given good info to go out on our own, which worked out great. The Hotel and restaurant were excellent. Sure this facility is a little dated, but still very good beds, clean and you can't beat the location.... More

This lodge has the perfect location if you plan on visiting Mesa Verde, but that's where the positives end. The rooms have been remodeled, but poorly. Its like slapping lipstick on a pig. The bathroom is cramped and you will not have room to move around. The bathroom took me back to my college dorm shower, but sadly my dorm... More

The hotel is in a beautiful setting and loved sitting on the balcony just looking. We saw wild horses and elk run past. It's not an attractive hotel - the rooms set out like a motel but inside they were clean. The bathroom was small not much room to move around in but it's where the hotel is that counts.... More

It's wonderful at the end of a National Park day to know that you don't have to leave the park to sleep. You can extend your time exploring, instead of driving. In this case, the Far View Lodge is right on the mark. Plus, even though I'd read that it was nearly impossible to get a last minute reservation, it... More

This lodge is located in the middle of the park so it is a perfect as a jumping off point to visit all the archaeological sites. However, the furnishings in the unit we stayed in was VERY dated and it was badly in need of maintenance, i.e. large hole cut in drywall under the sink exposing the plumbing in the... More

We stayed two nights at the Far View, with two rooms. Room 113 is on the second floor and offered excellent views of the distant high prairie, mesas, and even more distant mountains down in New Mexico ... including Shiprock. Room 110 was on the ground floor, but still offered great views, plus an opportunity to get some good photos... More

Checking in was very organized and friendly. The setting is outstanding. However the facilities that house the house the accomodations are in dire need of renovation. Furnishings are rather basic, the bed was very comfortable. However i was awakened at 5:30 AM by the roar of the adjoining room's shower. In addition most of the porch lights were burned out... More

The Far View Hotel is located in and is the only hotel in Mesa Verde National Park, making its location excellent to seeing the cliff dwellings in the park. The visitors center is no longer located near the hotel, so be sure to get your tour tickets at the visitors center prior to driving into the park. I had a... More

Just spoke with the reservation staff about booking two rooms in July. I booked online for the standard room. She said the standard does not have A/C, are older, in a separate building. Kiva for $60 more is in the main building, has AC and newly renovated with nicer views. Just came back from Mesa Verdes. The hotel is very... More
