As noted by others, convenience and location is what the Far View Lodge has going for it. If exploring the park is what you're after, then Far View Lodge will fill the bill. Our party of 2 adults and 1 toddler, had one of the Kiva cabin type rooms with 2 queen beds. With a big wardrobe in the room,... More

The only plus is convenience and location as Cortez is about one hour away. We had a Kiva room for 2 nights. Our check-in experience was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL: Waited 2+ hours for our room because of a lack of coordination between the housekeeping and the front desk staff members. The room had no view to speak of (facing the overgrown... More

It's worth staying here to save the long drive from town. Cabin type lodging. It's clean & has lots of space. We had one of the Kiva rooms. The view was of typical dry desert & sagebrush. Cafeteria food nearby was good. I'd recommend staying here if you're short on time. It's located close to all the park attractions. The... More

We stated here towards the end of our road trip. Wonderful accommodation with, as expected a far view! Comfortable room, lovely big soft bed. Lovely balcony to enable you to take in the distant views but also the nature right under the balcony. Thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation. Disappointed by the restaurant though, in 17 days of meals, it had to... More

These huts are just about ok. They need a refurb. In ours the shower kept dripping & as the curtain did not reach the basin the floor got wet. Tiles were cracked & I suspect the wooden floor was rotten in places. No TV but that didn’t bother us. Eating is at the ‘fine dining’ restaurant or café style in... More

As the name implies, this lodge in the highlands of Mesa Verde National Park has a grand view in the distance. Lodge headquarters are functional, with a good panaramic view from the restaurant, far into the distant landscape of the Four Corners area. The rooms, themselves, are in unattractive, 1950's motel style, units. The units seem to be clean and... More

There are no lodgings close to the park, so it's really worth it to stay here. Similar to other national park lodgings, it's a bit expensive and a bit primitive, but charming. The room and bathroom were extremely small but pleasant with nice decor and a small deck. Large mini fridge. The wifi didn't work and the staff were not... More

The Far View Lodge is the only lodging choice in the Park if you aren't camping. Staying there saves about 2 hours each day vs staying in Cortez. As park lodging goes the price was reasonable with the prepaid discount. The room is nice but basic. No A/C, No TV, No Cell Service. They did have reasonably good Wifi. The... More

To be fair, there are certainly advantages to staying overnight at Far View Lodge -- there are, as advertised, far views and a considerable saving of time for exploring Mesa Verde, compared to staying at the base of the mountain in Cortez. And the Lodge's dinners were excellent (though the breakfasts rather less so). The real disadvantage to staying overnight... More

About the only good thing I can say about this hotel is that the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were part of a large group staying at Far View in Sept, 2013. It probably didn't help the ambiance that we arrived in a driving rainstorm with temps 15 - 20 degrees below normal. Our accommodations were... More
