The drive to the Inn in early June was long, dusty yet enjoyable. Food options limited. The facilities were a bit long in the tooth - but clean and functional. The location is heavenly. Phenomenal view. No planes, no noise, no lights anywhere at night. Remote is an understatement. At dusk we were visited by roaming muledeer. In the morning,... More

The hotel is balanced right on the edge of the mesa so the views are fantastic. There aren't a lot of choice for where to stay if you want to see the park but this hotel didn't make us feel like we were settling. It's not fancy but we felt like we got good value for our money. There wasn't... More

We stayed in a Kiva room and the weather meant we needed the heating, especially as the room is tiled with only a couple of rugs. Fine for the summer but when the weather turns it gets a distinctly chilly – it was freezing outside. From reading other reviews it seems that despite the same price for all Kiva rooms... More

We spent three days at Far View Lodge at Mesa Verde, and we had a great time. The room was pretty minimalist, but that was what we were looking for. It was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and the view was amazing. We enjoyed deer, rabbits, chipmonks, one coyote and wild horses. There is no TV, no cell phone reception, and wi-fi... More

The Far View Lodge is far, far, far from being a great place to stay. We elected to pay extra for a Kiva room, which looks wonderful on the website, credit to the marketing department. On the positive side, it has air conditioning, which helps drown out the noise from your neighbor. The furniture was is nicer as advertised, but... More

The rooms are pretty rustic, but we thought that fit well with the National Park theme. We had a wonderful sunrise to view from the room and when it was light enough to see, the deer were walking just under our balcony. The restaurant was, in our opinion, trying too hard to be high class. Quail on the menu for... More

The overall Mesa Verde experience is a great one. Far View Lodge is not fancy or new, but the rooms are comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. We enjoyed an evening of peace and quiet sitting on our little balcony. The food in the dining room was excellent and the waitstaff very professional and attentive. Reservations for a room are a... The National Park Service has had problems with all its lodges since it began contracting out with concessionaires. The entity that gets the contract is mainly concerned with maxing out the money. I was there with a tour group and the showers in some of the rooms needed attention. On the other hand, the sunrise was gorgeous. There has to... More

I checked in on a Friday afternoon WITHOUT a reservation. Was I lucky, or was I lucky to get a room? I recommend having reservations so that you don't risk being turned away. Given the physical remoteness of this property, I was expecting a substandard experience. With the appropriate level of expectation, the hotel exceeded expectations. My room was clean,... More

The location of the hotel speaks for itself; it's the only one in the park! However, that's no reason to rest on its laurels. The rooms are very average, at least the beds are comfortable. The staff were very friendly & helpful but the organisation in the dining room was none existent. They don't take reservations! Therefore if you get... More
