Weather exceptional, lending itself to a phenomenal sandy beach,Atlantic rip tides more surfer friendly than swimming 2km in length so pleasant to walk along. front of hotel overlooking marshes superb for 'twitchers'. plenty of very different walks, good local transport to Santander and Bilbao. food suiting seafood dining,Spanish cuisine.typical Spanish hotel, friendly staff, few Brits frequent this area, loved it all even... Just had two weeks at this Hotel with Saga who always book rooms on the second floor so we upgraded to the third floor for a balcony and magnificent views. Staff always helpful and service second to none. Food superb, buffet breakfast, Tapas at the bar for lunch and waitress service evening meal. Wine served at meal times is of... More

I stayed at this property with my wife and our little baby girl during a wonderful trip to Northern Spain. We spend there one night and were given a huge room with great ocean views. The hotel is very well appointed, but some features would benefit from an update. Our room was very clean, but there were some loose parts... More

Our second visit to this hotel (we stayed here last year) and we found it an even more enjoyable place to stay. Large, bright room overlooking Barria beach, friendly staff and the breakfast variety has improved. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but the tapas available in the bar were very good: fresh, varied and available throughout the day. WiFi... More

We had a 2 week holiday here and we could not have had a better time. The staff were fantastic, helpful, serving everyone without a wait and even though working long hours, they were always friendly and cheerful. The hotel is right on the beach and the view second to none. We have booked a holiday next year to another... More

Very accommodating staff when we booked upon arrival. Lovely, bright rooms with gorgeous views of the beach. Nice breakfast with plenty of options and great service. The wifi was not very reliable in the room, but better in the upstairs lounge.

Margot and her staff did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable and Belen, our SAGA rep was a real gem.The weather was mixed but that is to be expected in northern Spain. The holiday got off to a bad start due to lack of assistance from Portsmouth ferry terminal staff but we complained LOUDLY and things were better organised... More

The Trip map to the right puts this right on the sea hotel streets away from the beach. This is extremely annoying, more especially as however often one reports the error TA never corrects it. For those like me with limited mobility or families with small children knowing how far accommodation is from restaurants etc is very important.

Going a bit back to the 70's early 80's with this hotel. However the food is great, rooms are huge for todays standards and price excellent. The view is outstanding, having stayed here now two times, I will be back again. be aware that there are large groups of french or brits on retirement sight seeing tours, which might feel... More

We stayed for a week at this extremely well situated hotel directly on the unspoilt Berria beach. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday with excellent food, comfortable bedrooms (with kettle, tea & coffee for us Brits) with a lovely view of the beach. I wish we had upgraded to the 3rd floor for a terrace as the weather was good and we... More
