We've been to this hotel at least 5 or 6 times, initially when it was owned by Leo and Isabel Benz. The first time we went back after it had changed hands, we were disappointed with the evening meal arrangement. The food had been coked and brought in from somewhere else and just heated up which wasn't at all satisfactory.... More

We stayed there 3 nights, on the occasion of the wedding of a friend. It is a very romantic place for such events, with breathtaking views and excellent set-up. There are plenty of opportunities for nature and culture, many small nice villages, Picos de Europa and beaches. The hotel staff was very friendly and the breakfast very nice. We didn't... More

We were so disappointed to find that the situation re the food has not changed one year on. Remembering an idyllic setting with comfy bedrooms and excellent food -we returned after 2 viists 6 and 8 yrs ago- we wished we hadn't. Whilst the staff were friendly the personal touch from the previous owners had gone and the whole hotel... More

My wife and I stayed at The Halcon Palace in September 2007 and we rated it so highly that we returned in September 2008. We had read the comment written by an earlier reviewer in June 2008 referring to the poor quality of the food and we hoped it was just an isolated example, and that the chef had merely... More

a pleasant hotel with great views from the garden and pool. the only thing that spoils this hotel is the standard of evening meals. we ate the 1st 2 nights but discovered there was no hotel chef and that meals were being brought in from a neighbouring hotel several kms away. As there are no other restaraunts nearby this was... More

We had a marvellous stay in the Halcon Palace this summer. It is ideal if you want relaxation and an away from it all holiday. The rooms were excellent, and the pool really wonderful. We hired a car and did some exploration of the local area (the great new dinosaur museum, canoeing down the River Sella, visiting the market in... More

Just superb!! Imagine a great house placed on an incredible green valley, surrounded by wild horses and cows, with an spectacular view of the Picos de Europa, and 10 minutes away from the nicest asturian beaches. Don't expect luxury!! This is a country house rebuilted over an XVIII th Century ruin and furnished with some antiques and confortable beds. The... More

Staying at the Halcon Palace is like stepping back in time. The hotel is beautifully situated on the side of a hill overlooking the valley and the Picos de Europa Mountains beyond. Truly spectacular! The hotel is full of old world charm. It's furnished with antiques, the rooms are large and service excellent. Someone even turned down the beds for... More

I have stayed at Halcon Palace about 6 times over the last 5 years. It is run by a Swiss man Leo Benz and his spanish wife. His brother is the chef. the location is rural which I like. No discos or other facilities within walking distance. The views are stunning and if you like walking and birdwatching as I... More
