They have planned family activities past mid-night, hence the main area in LOUD. Our rooms were right above the bar....the staff accommodated our request for quieter location. Definitely structured for family with small kids. There is always a bustle. Breakfast was okay, restaurants a better choice for meals. Beaches are rocky/pebbly, and water extremely calm ( forget waves).

I was utterly disappointed with the food and the overall hotel service. With respect to the food (I was really looking forward to try Spanish cuisine) -everything was fried and dripping with fat, hardly any vegetarian options. If there were vegetables (obviously immersed in fat) - there were usually mixed with fried ham or other sort of meet. The cheapest... More

Had a week here with Preferred Travel Services. Reception services were excellent with any queries or advice. Large rooms with large comfortable beds, sofa and balcony. Meals were reasonable with a fair choice of dishes to choose from. Usually two or three meat dishes a fish dish and pasta dishes, plenty of choice of desert with the usual cakes, yogurts... More

Reasonable rooms but it ends there. Although near the beach it is a dirty black sand and mainly stony, not a pleasant experience. The hotel rooms were reasonable but the food was dire, breakfast chemical orange juice from a machine that had never rubbed shoulders with an orange - in a country that grows the fruit! coffee similar, buffet food... spacious room and good standard of cleanliness. Good bathroom and shower. Efficient air conditioning. Food fairly standard for a buffet at a budget seaside hotel. There are a couple of good beach cafes just on town side of hotel. Nice walk into town or bus costs a euro.

This is my second review for this hotel, having also stayed in February 2013. I wanted to add that this visit was very disappointing compared to my previous stay here. As before, I travelled with my mum via Preferred Travel Services, having booked again because we enjoyed the previous holiday so much. The standard of food in the restaurant was... More

We stayed here as part of a group. Our room was of a larger than average size with plenty of storage and a well appointed bathroom. We had a beautiful view of the rather grand pool area and gardens. A reasonable size balcony to sit on too. The buffet food was very good given that it was catering for the... More

Was there a week commencing 21st February and was more than pleased by the fact that the single supplement gave me a full sized room overlooking the pool. Some people moaned about the noise from the reception area but I slept through. Room 221 or odd numbers on that floor give you a sunning balcony afternoon till sunset. It is... More

Had a nice relaxing stay here at the beginning of November. Comfortable rooms of reasonable size. Lovely, helpful staff. Easy to get the bus into Almunecar and have a lovely walk back along the seafront. The adjacent park is nice for a stroll. We had excellent weather, but there were lots of quiet seating areas inside if it had been... More
