We stayed for 9 nights in April during semana santa. We were given a 3 bedroom apartment with a view of the gardens (for the same price as the two bedroom apt with no garden view - that we had booked). The apartment was lovely and clean with a washing machine - great addition when travelling with children. It was... more

A Wonderful hotel with excellent rooms, or actually suites! We received a big living room and two bedrooms + balcony for regular price. There were also a freezer and washing machine + kitchen wear available in the room. The pool area was beautiful and everything was furnished tastefully. The pool area was quite small, so it may be crowded later... more

This hotel albeit quite luxurious has the worst staff I have ever encountered and I have been travelling both at a business & personal level for many years. On arrival at the hotel we were exposed to a racist remark and attitude as other family and friends had arrived on previous nights, as we were there as a group for... more

Apparently this is a 4-star hotel but I think they must have drawn the stars outside the door themselves because I can't imagine them being awarded to this property. To be honest, we were disappointed from the moment we arrived when we saw the mirror mosaic doors at the entrance. The first room we were given reeked of boiling asparagus... more

After living in Almunecar for 3 years I returned with my family in Sept 06 for a 10 day break. The Playa Calida (located slightly off the beaten track between Almunecar and Salobrena) was full so we settled for this hotel because it was recommended by one of my friends and is located on the main road (running parallel to... more

We visited this hotel inearly August 2006. We were not disappointed. The hotel itself is on main road in a residential area set among apartment blocks and cafes although once inside you would never know. The suites were lovely, well furnished and very clean. We had a garden suite and the view was lovely, facing the pool, waterfalls and orchard.... more

I have to say that I thought this place was 'trying too hard'. The main part of the hotel is covered in mirrors which can be highly disconcerting. Oh, and the entrance looks like a mirror - it's only when you walk towards it and it opens that you find that it's the way in. It's all supposed to be... more

We booked (via the hotel web page/good discounts) to stay in this hotel for 3 weeks. We were not disappointed. We were assigned a pool side apartment (normally they are E25 per day!) Apartment spotlessly clean and very well presented plus amazing views of the gardens and pool, particularly at night when it is all illuminated. Breakfast buffet (which is... more

Just returned from a fortnight's stay at the Albayzin del Mar. Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Were originally allocated a room on the street side of the hotel but scooter noise kept me awake all night (didn't bother my husband though!). Swapped next day to a pool, garden and sea view room which was very quiet, but €25 extra -... more

The hotel is well placed in Almunecar (not Granada as stated here), about 300 metres walk to the town centre and 800 metres to the seafront. I stayed in a 2-bedroom apartemnt with full facilities. The kitchens are a reasonably well-equipped although slightly worn. The rest of the apartment was of a good size and very clean (which I find... more
