Very good food, comfortable en-suite rooms, reasonable prices. The people are very friendly and helpful. From the village you can pick several walks of varying difficulty. The open valleys are stunning, as are the rock formations. You are only a short drive away from the city of Granada where you have the not-to-be-missed Alhambra and the lovely Albaicin.

The town is small, sleepy but friendly. We had to ask the locals to find a place to stay for those 2 nights we had in mind, but they guided us with lots of enthusiasm. The town have a little bar/cafe just beside the central busstop, this is where the action is, and it is fun sitting there watching the... More

We were skiing in Sierra Nevada and stayed here for 3 days. Good value at around €45 for a double including breakfast which was a third of the price in resort. Make sure you do a pub crawl visiting the pub on the cave next door to the hotel and the craft shop next door. Also the pub in the... More

This hotel is located in a quiet town in the sierra nevada moutain. This a very typical village with small streets and a mountain river is flowing just along the hotel. No too far from Granada to visit and have dinner and no too close to enjoy the mountain air. Price is 30 euros per night with breakfast. Rooms are... More

After a trip with our family we stayed in this nice hotel. We came at 22.00hr and we were pleasantley welcomed. It is situated in the lovely town of Monachil and is near many hikingpaths. It is also near Granada and so you can make a mixed cultural and natural vacation.

We loved this hotel, though it was a bit difficult to find for us with GPS. Loved the free parking & breakfast (drinks, lunchmeats, bread, cereal, yogurt - really a feast compared to everywhere else in Europe!) The couple was helpful with showing us maps for things to do and we loved the nearby hike/run we took their advice on... More

We stayed here as it was not too far to travel into Granada. The hotel was nice and clean and although no English was spoken they were very friendly and helpful. We managed to get wifi. Rooms basic traditional, no balcony, good size bathroom, air conditioning. Traditional breakfast, coffee or tea, juice, yogurt, tinned fruit, bread, cheese, ham, tomato/oil dressing.... More

This hotel was disappointing overall. However based on it's price it was just about OK. The hotel was clean and the reception staff were friendly. Rooms were noisy, and staff were reluctant to sort out those responsible. Breakfast was dreadful, very limited, and in the land where oranges grow on trees, even the OJ was grim. The room was small... More

Monachil very quiet but ideal for Sierra Nevada. Rooms small but clean. Had breakfast included and it was the worst I have ever seen. There was toast, toast and more toast and very little else. An unappetising plate of salami and various jams. A small bowl of cornflakes but no dishes or milk available. You then had to ask for... More

A bit out of the way... very quiet town... nothing much going on. View is good. The receptionist who greeted us at the night we arrived was very friendly. Small-ish room with slanted roof - I found this a charm of the room. Breakfast was ok, nothing fancy. Felt more like a family-run hotel than a professional hotel, which sometimes... More
