Describing an old, dated, in much need of major remodeling, hotel as European is misleading to say the least. The hotel calls itself "European", if the terminology is meant to entice, rather than describe perhaps the last time it was updated was when Europe was recognized as a continent, then there is a problem. In all seriousness, the hotel needs... More

I frequently travel to Atlanta on business but generally stay in the suburban hotels. Our company had a 3 day meeting in the city so several of us decided to find a unique hotel in the city. What a find it was to step back in time. Opened in 1946 and always operated as a hotel speak for their history.... More

Yes, this hotel is old, so if a little chipped paint bothers you, go somewhere else. I love this hotel. It is very clean, and laid back. I don't know why we haven't stayed here before, but will definitely be staying from now on. Convenient to everything!!! Already have a booking for April!! Thanks for an awesome stay!!

I loved my stay at The Highland Inn! Located in a block alongside The Highland Cafe, with great food and range of beers, The Fig and Flower natural beauty salon and store, an antique store, a cupcake store, and two other restaurants, The Highland Inn provides a delightful quiet refuge that gives you the feeling you're coming home. The staff... More

I came to Atlanta for a concert and wanted to stay an extra day to see the sights. I hate staying at sterile chain hotels so the Highland Inn caught my eye immediately. I chose this Inn based on it's AMAZING location, price, and charm! It is only a short walk away from L5P, and offers free parking on the... More

The Highland Inn was exactly what I was looking for - a cheap, no-frills place to stay for a night in Atlanta. Sure, there's some creaks here and there, but it's an older building and it just adds to the character, right? The desk staff was quiet but friendly and parking is free, although I personally took MARTA in. The... More

Stayed there recently while travelling through Atlanta. Tons of charm, and in a cool, and upcoming artsy neighborhood. Front desk personnel all seemed pretty uninterested (kind of like a flophouse). The room was very small (which was ok for a night), the bed clean and comfortable. The ac/heater in the window, a loud racket.... so loud I had to turn... More

When I go to Atlanta, I found I needed another room for my son's because one of my son;s apartment was flooded by heavy rain. I call The HIghland Inn to see if they had an extra room, which they did. When we arrived, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They got me an extra room and discounted the... More

Followup to a glowing review in February. Again, I like funky old hotels, and I love this place. Laid back but friendly reception staff. Creaky, uneven wooden meandering hallway floors, small but very comfortable and clean guest room. Place was packed last visit, not so this time, but the place just has a great vibe. I'm not a cat person,... More

I loved the atmosphere and its proximity to restaurants and shops. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. The staff were helpful and there was a friendly cat that welcomed me.
