Very old hotel, but clean and comfortable. Was originally built as budget tourist hotel with tiny rooms. BUT, the rooms have been combined, so enough space but oddly laid out with giant added on sprinkler fire suppression system hanging from the ceiling. Parking in lot next door is free and only for the hotel and restaurant, but could possibly run... More

Older hotel we were not sure what to expect! Pleasantly surprised, perfect for a night out in the highlands area without having to have a designated driver or expensive taxi/uber fees. You can walk to many bars from here. Room was large and comfortable. We would stay again and recommend to anyone needing a room for the night in the... More

The Inn was amazing, very good price and the employees were very nice to me and my girlfriend. The room floor was kind of "uneven" but that's fine. The location of the inn was near cool places like Little Five Points and some parks, in a very peaceful neighborhood! It has a nice thai food restaurant nearby as well, great... More

I'm going to give this five stars, even with the problems noted below, simply because the value here for the location you get is possibly better than anything else in the area. You could easily spend the whole weekend just walking around the area and its terrific small houses and neighborhood shopping/restaurant strips. Restaurant next door has a great patio,... More

The location is perfect! Pet friendly area with lots of shops, bars, and food joints in walking distance. The downtown area is a short drive or bus ride away. The hotel itself is older with small rooms. Sure it could use some renovation, but the quirks & quaintness add character in my opinion. The hotel manager, Kristin, was very helpful... More

We were very impressed. The hotel is ancient so be prepared for uneven floors, ceilings, etc. But the staff is helpful and friendly. The room was clean, not stained or old looking, the walls were freshly painted and the furnishings were fairly new and clean. The room set up was interesting, it looked like two old rooms had part of... More

First off, it was not an awful stay. I felt safe in this area but the best part was the vegan restaurant next door. The bed was ok, just ok, not awful, not great. There was a lot of noise, not from inside the hotel but from outside the window, from the parking lot. This is due to the poor... More

This was our first time to Atlanta, and I had read the reviews of The Highland Inn, and decided to book a two night stay from Jan.10-11th since we were attending a friend's wedding at the nearby Callanwolde Performing Arts Center. The Highland Inn certainly didn't disappoint. My husband and I, along with our teenaged daughters, stayed in a room... More

I like old no frills places, and the Highland Inn is just that. Creaky wood (but carpeted) hallway floors, full of charm. Room is small (one double bed), but it's all I need as a single business traveler. Comfortable upholstered chair, good working desk, speedy wi-fi, free parking and an excellent rate. Place is pet-friendly but I notice no aroma... More

Look, the Highland Inn isn't for everyone. The rooms are small, paint is lumpy, the carpet is worn, and you might see a cat wandering the hallway. But I LOVE this place. For a pedestrian experience of intown Atlanta (great food, music venues, funky boutiques) The Highland Inn is great. It's clean, and the price is right. Lots of bands... More
