My wife and I stopped in Atlanta on the way to our final honeymoon destination. I mentioned when I booked the trip that we were coming for our honeymoon and they couldn't have done more to make us feel special. First we were upgraded to the presidential suite in the penthouse! WOW is all I can say about the room.... more

It is hard to find a decent hotel in Atlanta. I have actually only ever found two The Nikko, Buckhead, and The Swissotel, Buckhead, and neither exist any more, the replacements are not nearly as good. We generally choose The Marriott if we are stuck, because they have such legendary comfortable beds. (Even though the fabulous old foam mattresses have... more

When I walked into this property, I was a little surprised at how dated the lobby decor was, but from the time I approached the front desk I was delighted by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the facility. The location of the hotel was central to our planned activities. It was 5-10 minutes by car to... more

We are loyal Marriott travelers and I usually trust Marriott to be clean and comfortable with comfy beds. But this stay was terrible. We pulled up to an old looking building and the valet parking attendant that eventually greeted us looked so unhappy with his job that I felt uncomfortable giving him the keys to our car. We stood in... more

This hotel is HUGE!!! The lay out has an atrium in the middle and makes this hotel seem even bigger. If you even the slightest vertigo I would stick to a very low level floor. The rooms were average hotel rooms but were clean, well appointed, and housekeeping was timely and good. The location of this hotel is great. Walking... more

My co-workers and I enjoyed the incredibly helpful and pleasant staff of the Marriott Atlanta Downtown. Every single person we encountered there went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. When I had a problem with the room heater, not only did someone come fix it right away but the staff later left me an apology letter with... more

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights while attending a trade show and convention. The rooms were fairly spacious, quiet and very clean. The front desk staff and bellmen were exceptional. Always greeting us and asking if they could be of service. I'd rate the rooms and over all hotel as a good 3-3.5 star - it's very good... more

We chose this hotel because of it's location to the GWCC. It's an easy walk to the CNN Center, Aquarium, and World of Coca Cola. Check in was fast and easy with a super-friendly staff. In fact, I would say that this is the friendliest hotel staff I have encountered in a long while. The doorman and valet staff went... more

February 2009. I had the opportunity to spend five nights at the Atlanta Marriott Downtown when I was attending an HRPS Social Networking & Web 2.0 workshop at the nearby Ritz Carlton. In these lean enconomic times, I was looking for a good rate for my stay and opted not to stay at the Ritz, which was just a block... more
