We had a merely "okay" stay, but it wasn't good value for our dollars. As other guests have noted, there are serious problems with kitchen and dining room service. At breakfast one morning the waiter obviously didn't have the training, temperament, or inclination for his job. Rudeness ruled. Most greasy spoon diners deliver basic breakfast fare far more successfully and... more

We were in Woodstock last year during autumn and had a wonderful time. The inn is beautiful and very stylish, with a nice restaurant on site. Our room is a suite and has a fireplace both in the bedroom and living room area. What a treat! And I loved the toiletry items in the bathroom. Everything smelled so good. To... more

My recent stay at the Lauren Inn was a disappointment. The inn is in excellent location and is a beautiful property, however, the staff and innkeeper lack the attention to detail when it comes to both the guests and the grounds one would expect. Upon arrival, I was quick to note many fall leaves still on the ground and shrubs... more

We spent two nights at the Lauren Inn (7, 8 September) in one of the "nicer" two-room suites (#8). The Inn itself is in a wonderful location in Woodstock and the property is beautiful. This Inn has a great deal of potential but the staff and lack of attention to guests reduced the experience to purely marginal. The Inn and... more

This past weekend our dear friends Leigh and Rob Blood, who own and manage a wonderful B&B called the Captain Fairfield Inn (Kennebunkport, ME), took us to the restaurant at the Lauren Inn (Woodstock, VT). I love to try lamb dishes wherever I go, so I ordered the rack of lamb, cooked to the chef's recommendation of medium-rare. This was... more

Maybe I am behind the times, but I have never before seen an establishment that charges a MANDATORY "gratuity" fee. It is a whopping 15%. On top of the 9% room tax. Fine print, indeed. more

I have stayed here 3 times and love it! It is like a home away from home. The breakfast is wonderful, the popcorn and wine in the afternoon is very relaxing. Menus to all local restaurants were available in the closet and extra blankets were in the hall. I will stay here each time I go to Woodstock! more

We stayed at this place last summer. Our rooms were large and the breakfast food was good. The girls who served us breakfast were very nice. However, in the evening we arrived, at 8:00pm (short time after we checked in), we couldn't find the innkeeper to give us information for local dinning. At 9:30pm, we tried to get extra blanket for... more
