Overlooking the dam in El Chorro and just steps away from the entrance to the Caminito del Rey, the hotel is small, recently refurbished and has a pool with the most magnificent views down the reservoir. We booked a double room with a kitchen. Slightly more expensive but useful if you want to make your own breakfast or, like us,... More

We were on a short trip to the area , to view the lakes and Gorge . The hotel is located in El Chorro , apart from the hotel and a station there is not much else apart from beautiful views . We hadn't booked but the lady on reception was very pleasant so booked for the night . There... More

Took the scenic drive from Fuengirola via Alora to El Chorro yesterday to have a look at the Caminito Del Rey, which unfortunately is fully booked now until September. Worth noting though, that if you spend €25.00 per head in the Restaurant for lunch, you are given a ticket for this walk, so worth bearing in mind if you haven't... More

Situated almost opposite the railway station and attached to a hotel which is a converted flour mill, we ate at La Garganta restaurant twice during our stay in El Chorro, and found the food to be very good indeed. Local and/or artesenal dishes were clearly highlighted on the menu which use only authentic, locally sourced ingredients. The rabbit, kid goat,... More

This hotel has a great location near entrance to the Camino del Rei. It has also wunderfull views. Rooms are clean but small. We had a room with two floors, the staircase to second floor is only for thin people. The staff cannot understand english.

This hotel is set among stunning scenery in the hillside overlooking the whole valley. We stopped for one night on our way from Malaga to Ronda and it was well worth doing. The hotel is right next to the rail station so very convenient to get to. There are lots of walks to go on and in the peak of... More

Our group of two families, very thirsty after a long walk, stopped by La Garganta for a drink. It ended up being two. The view was beautiful and the service rather pleasant. I'll make a special mention for the sangria.

Stopped here for lunch whilst touring the area.Huge portions, extremely tasty, starters & mains, couldnt manage dessert, though our friends did.The bill was very reasonable. The setting is very impressive with the cliffs & river.Would certainly consider staying here in future.

This place is out-of-the-way but definitely worth the trip. The drive to the hotel through the national park is almost worth the price in of itself. The spectacular scenery that surrounds the hotel is truly unique. The hotel itself is situated on the side of the mountain next to a quaint train station that is tucked between two deep tunnels.... Fabulous location, but waking up to the sight of a group of vultures circling above the hotel, followed by a solitary Eagle was breathtaking. La Garganta is the only hotel close to the sleepy railway station. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are contemporary but the outsides walls are adorned with farming antiques which helps create a very atmospheric... More
