We just stayed one night, but we will go back. We had booked a duplex apartment, however both men are ex rugby players & the reception staff asked us to take a look at the apartment before making a decision. They are indeed on the small side the spiral staircase would have been a challenge after a few halves of... More

Fantastic setting, sat in the courtyard with overhead vines loaded with grapes.. Great views of El Chorro. Had a nice cold beer then lunch.. I had the chicken with sliced roasted potatoes in oliv oil, it was excellent. The rest of our party had the pork steak, unfortunately, it was somewhat tough, fatty and undercooked. The words, worst steak ever... More

I stopped here for a drink on a boiling hot day, and was delighted to enter the cool bar area and have a sit down. I enjoyed a nice beer next to a window seat with a perfect view over El Chorro and the area. I was impressed with the service, and also the views, and if I were to... More

This was our second stay at La Garganta. It is set in a very tranquil and scenic location overlooking the El Chorro gorge, and is in the midst of superb cycling and walking territory. Our room was on two levels, overlooking the gorge, and although the steep staircase probably isn't ideal for sleepwalkers we liked it's charm and quirkiness. There... More

La Garganta is a lovely, inexpensive hotel and perfect for relaxation. My wife and I Stayed for 2 nights in June 2015. Location: El Chorro is a tiny village in the mountains. The drive there is amazing with fantastic views. They are currently widening one of the roads leading to the area and it is currently closed in the mornings... More

Overlooking the dam in El Chorro and just steps away from the entrance to the Caminito del Rey, the hotel is small, recently refurbished and has a pool with the most magnificent views down the reservoir. We booked a double room with a kitchen. Slightly more expensive but useful if you want to make your own breakfast or, like us,... More

We were on a short trip to the area , to view the lakes and Gorge . The hotel is located in El Chorro , apart from the hotel and a station there is not much else apart from beautiful views . We hadn't booked but the lady on reception was very pleasant so booked for the night . There... More

Took the scenic drive from Fuengirola via Alora to El Chorro yesterday to have a look at the Caminito Del Rey, which unfortunately is fully booked now until September. Worth noting though, that if you spend €25.00 per head in the Restaurant for lunch, you are given a ticket for this walk, so worth bearing in mind if you haven't... More

Situated almost opposite the railway station and attached to a hotel which is a converted flour mill, we ate at La Garganta restaurant twice during our stay in El Chorro, and found the food to be very good indeed. Local and/or artesenal dishes were clearly highlighted on the menu which use only authentic, locally sourced ingredients. The rabbit, kid goat,... More
