My wife and I stopped here for the night of our 32nd anniversary while on our way to Carson City, NV to look for retirement homes. This was the best idea we've ever had for a romantic stay. Chris "Strider" Chater, the owner and operator, was a wonderful host and the little cabin was clean, warm, comfortable, charming and perfect!... More

Lovely little cabin with two wonderful queen beds. Comfy and warm on a cold winter's night. Cris was very welcoming and made sure our stay was enjoyable. We will definitely stop again on our way to and/or from Mammoth! ps. the great wifi connection was an added plus...

We stopped for an overnight on the way to June Lake. We were greeted with an offer of tea or soft drinks. The queen size bed is on the firmer side, which is the way I like it. The rooms are small, so leave the luggage in the car and bring in a small overnight bag! Everything is clean. The... More

We stayed there only one night, but it was excellent ! Our cabin was perfect: very clean, cosy & comfortable ! The staff was extremely kind & helpful, and the breakfast (home made!) served in the morning was excellent !! We chose this motel because of its location: less than an hour away from Death Valley. It was a perfect... More

I had the small cabin with a fenced in yard for the dog and it was a fantastic set-up with an outdoor area with a small firebox, seating and table - a great place to be after a day of hiking or sightseeing. We loved looking at the stars - more than I ever see at home. The little touches... More

Stayed here one night for my resupply while hiking JMT. The room was very clean and smelled like fresh lavender. :) The best part was the service though. Strider and Jim were so helpful and friendly. And the breakfast was delicious!

Our family stayed here for a week in August to do some area hiking. We met many interesting people and our hosts, Strider and Dave, were very accommodating and friendly. The views were tremendous - we hiked up some trails and visited the Ancient Bristlecone Forest. Bishop and its restaurants and bakeries were close by but we also ate in... More

I stayed here around August 18 or 19 for one night. This place is set up for hikers and seems popular. I didn't reserve in advance and it seems I was lucky to get in that particular night. The motel has several small one room cabins with AC in each of them. They hand you a free pop or iced... More

A great place to resupply during a JMT thru-hike! Strider was incredibly accommodating and provided everything necessary for a worn-out hiker including trailhead rides, laundry, hiker buckets, lending library, and breakfast the next day. Clean rooms and great knowledge of the valley and backcountry. Can't wait to come back!

The guest at this motel are lovely people. We travelled for nearly 4 weeks and stayed at different hotels, I have to say that this place was a bit more expensive than the others compared to what we got. The rooms/cabins were tiny but well appointed and tidy, I would say a typical place to stay for Hikers or Fishing.... More
