The cabins may be small, but they are extremely clean and well-maintained, and the staff are wonderful and helpful with suggestions. It's so nice to walk in the evening and see a sky full of stars. We enjoyed our stay and will probably stay here again on our next trip.

Very cute, clean and cozy place to stay in Independence. My dog was welcome and there is a perfect place to walk dogs next to the motel in addition to a grassy park with trees. I stayed in the cabin with a kitchen which was in perfect condition. Will stay here again!!

If you are visiting Manzanar or doing some sightseeing or hiking in the area, this is the place to stay. I originally checked out places in Lone Pine, but every place I checked had a higher percentage of negative reviews than I liked. After driving through the touristy Lone Pine, I knew we had made the right choice staying in... More

This place is a gem. I chose it because of the many positive reviews but feared from the photos of the cabins that the insides might be a bit tacky. Not at all. New owners took over 2 years ago, moving down from San Francisco, and completely redesigned the interiors, which are charming and comfortable, filled with individualized elements of... More

This is now my official home-away-from-home when I'm in the Eastern Sierra. Strider's place is FANTASTIC! The cabins are perfect - super comfy, always clean, and just the right amount of style & amenities to make you feel taken care of, but never stuffy or overdone. The hot shower is perfect after a day of hiking. Strider is a friendly... More

These are cabins at the south part of Independence. Nothing fancy, just clean and surprisingly quiet since they are right on the highway. The towels in particular were thicker than a cheap motel. The woman that runs the place is very nice and helpful. We would stay there again!

We stayed there in our way from Death Valley to Yosemite and I'm so glad we stayed there. They are so kind, the room was very clean and the homemade breakfast was great. We went there as part of our honeymoon and they put a "just married" sign in our cabin's entrance. Really nice touch! :) We stayed in cabin... More

We had reservations at the Mt. Williamson Motel in Independence, CA, this past weekend, as we had not been able to find a vacancy in Lone Pine, due to the annual Cowboy Film Festival in that town which we were attending. We were a bit uncertain as to what we would find in Independence, but WOW, what a find! Owner... More

The room was very clean and was stocked with coffee, tea, soap and shampoo and an extra towel. There is a small refrigerator. Strider makes a delicious breakfast for all the guests each morning. Sitting together at one big table, you get a chance to meet and learn from the others. Although this motel is not fancy, Strider says she... More
