We stayed here in early March. The check-in process was easy and by 2:30 we were in our room. The room was clean and tidy. The A/C did not work, when turned on it would pump out hot air. I later found out that although the hotel had A/C, they were not switching it on. This should be updated on their website. We were offered a fan. There are 4 restaurants - I should note, as an all inc member, you get to dine at 1 restaurant, once. I don't recall this being shown anywhere when we booked the holiday. The Jolly Trough - otherwise known as Da Vella (for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner) - I call it the Jolly Trough because it’s like a feeding frenzy at the pig zoo. The food is ok, however, if you have an allergy, stay away. I asked what was gluten-free at breakfast, I was told everything… including the potato croquettes which were coated in breadcrumbs. At lunch I asked if the stew was gluten-free, and I was told yes, only 10%… what does that mean? I was later told that the Chinese noodles were OK to eat, but when I asked the head chef, I was told no. Tsubu is their Asian themes restaurant, the food is again buffet style, I was lucky enough to get someone who knew what they were talking about. I was made some rice and beef which was tasty. El Vagabundo - their South American theme restaurant. The food was unauthentic and bland - buffet style. Lune is great. The cocktails and food were excellent (not part of the package) we ended up spending most of our time here. The barman, Mohammed was incredible. The staff make the place! Most are friendly and welcoming. Charlie’s Bar is the only all-inclusive bar, it is often crowded. The room has little character and smells. Drinks are nasty but I guess you expect that from an all-inclusive. The spa looks recently reconditioned which is a shame as the old one, in the hotel photos, looks nicer. The general area, pool, sauna and steam room are clean, however, the pool is cold, there is no jacuzzi anymore, it's now jets built into a freezing pool. Also, they seem to pump cool air into the pool room so you can’t just relax in there. 50% of the lockers do not work and the spa treatment in my opinion are overpriced, you can get an amazing Thai massage down the road for 1/2 the price. The hotel is spotless however as the week went on, our room became forgotten. We left the 'clean our room' door hanger out 4 times. 2 of the times we did not get milk, coffee or sugar replaced and by day 6 we had run out of shower gel as it was not replaced. When we arrived, there was a dead cockroach on our balcony, this was still there on day 8. Our room overlooked the courtyard, which was fine, until drunk people came back to their rooms, shouting and screaming which echoed around the yard, had the A/C been working, we could have closed the door and slept well. The internet is very slow around the hotel, so much so it’s a struggle to watch Netflix or Disney. The beds are hard and uncomfortable, my partner can usually sleep anywhere but we both struggled with sore tight backs as a result of the beds. Finally, the bathroom sink leaked.…
