Four of us had a great week here Western riding through the vineyards and beautiful forests. Even the wet autumnal weather didn't dampen our fun, lots of riding including two picnic rides & last evening dusk ride to a bar. Rain stopped us one day but we had fabulous Western lesson with Franco/Marco and a fun/relaxing afternoon at the spa.... More

We have been @ Castellare 3 times in the row and was just fantastic. We never been later there then June and our son was not older then 7. The team at reception (etc.) is absolutely nice and always helpful. The rooms are more then basic and the kitchen are fully equipped. Some apartments also do have a dish washer... More

We have just returned from a 4 day riding holiday here booked through 'In the Saddle'. Our experience was great. The horses were surefooted and careful down some of the steep paths but forward going enough to enjoy many trots and canters through wonderful countryside. The rides were a good mix of trails and tracks and the guides chose routes... More

Just back from a riding holiday here. I have been on many riding holidays all over the world and obviously am comparing this trip to them. I am 53 and have ridden horses most of my life. The resort is nice and the accommodation comfortable, apart from my bed which was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress seemed to be a cheap... More

The track down to the Childrens Club is steep and gravelly - the amenities are very limited with no swings or similar. The children seemed to spend most of their time on a grey dusty bank which had exposed tree roots and a thin length of rope hanging from a branch. It was a couple of metres high and slippery.... In the castello, you can find a perfect spot to experience the Western riding. A stable equipped with quarter horses and staffed with friendly and professional people. Adventurous rides in the neighbourhood and the possibility to enjoy a training from a horse whisperer, called Franco. Only to watch him work is worth a visit. We visited the Castello in August... We (family with two kids, age 9 and 6) spent 1 week at Castellare di Tonda. We had a great time despite the very hot weather we had early August. The location is amazing with spectacular view over the surrounding countryside. Also a great base to discover nearby sights such Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano etc. Be aware that houses, the... Just back from a week in the resort. On arrival a complimentary bottle of wine was waiting and a bottle of water placed in the fridge a nice gesture. The apartment was ideal for the two of us it was part of a refurbished Tuscan farmhouse. The pool was excellent with ample sun beds and deckchairs. Fabio and his team... More

I spent a week at Castellare Di Tonda primarily to take advantage of the horse riding program they offered. Location - The location is amazing, perched on top of the rolling Tuscan hills, giving spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. Centrally located so that venturing out to the sights (Pisa, Florence, Siena, Lucca, San Giganano, Volterra etc) is relatively easy... More
