We have stayed here twice, once just recently. After a DC weekend, we stopped for one night in Richmond on our way back to North Carolina. A retired couple runs this cozy B&B in the museum district. They're full of amusing anecdotes, including when Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick rented the entire inn during a movie shoot. We are now... More

Choosing from the guidebook for location, we felt we landed in a bed of roses for the beauty and hospitality of this home. The hosts were gracious, friendly and helpful and the food fine. Off street parking and a place to relax outdoors added to the charm of staying here, but the real magnet is the feeling of welcome! These... More

Had a wonderful stay at the Kensington B&B. Very gracious hosts and a delicious breakfast. If we ever have the opportunity to go to Richmond again we would rebook without hesitation. The French Room was fine for us but may not suit everyone since it has a separate parlor for the TV and the bathroom is down the (not private)... More

We had the pleasure of residing at The Kensington B and B in mid-August, 2012. Indeed, we "resided" because it was much more than a "stay." There were five of us and we enjoyed all 3 of their beautifully appointed rooms for two nights. The host and hostess were delightfully warm and welcoming and made every effort to make our... More

We stayed in the carriage house and would definitely go back. We particularly appreciated the off street parking and little garden, friendly but not intrusive hosts, very clean room, great breakfast and beautifully set table.

We wanted to stay in town while visiting our son in Richmond and couldn't have selected a more perfect place to experience the city. Bill and Bertie are absolutely charming and made us feel at home right away. They truly represent the best of southern hospitality. We stayed in the Carriage House which afforded us more privacy when our son... More

You can't dream up better hosts than Bertie and Bill at the Kensington Inn. I spent the night in Richmond for a job interview and my stay was comfortable and stress-free. The beautiful inn is located in the center of the museum district, just a hop skip to the historical Society and the VMFA and a few short blocks to... More

I recently stayed at the Kensington Bed and Breakfast for 5 days while attending a workshop in Richmond. It was wonderful! I stayed in the Carriage House, which is an adorable, comfortable little studio out back with a bathroom, kitchenette, cable TV and WiFi, and a little garden setting out front. I traveled alone, and Bill and Bertie made me... More
