I love historical inns, or anything that has a historical charm, but sadly I was not a fan of Linden Row. I was expecting historic charm, what I got was old musty building that requires a lot more money to be dumped into it before it gets there. I had been wanting to visit LRow for years, since ive tried... More

The Linden Row Inn provides a change of pace from typical chain hotels. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly--which is critical for a summer stay in Richmond. The old-fashioned parlor which serves as a lobby is comfortable as well. The porches overlooking the courtyard could be very inviting, but they need to be spruced... More

I stayed at this hotel a couple of times. he first time it was lovely. Great room, airy, view of the courtyard. Basic amenities but charming. I had to come back to Richmond for business so I called the hotel direct and asked for the same room. The told me that the one above was available so I booked that... More

This hotel is actually a set of joined row houses - it's beautiful to look at on the outside, and the outside is a good indication of what you'll get on the inside, which is a well-preserved, historic hotel, with rather stiff Victorian furniture. Aside from the formality, however, this hotel is very comfortable and pretty affordable. The historical significance... More

Linden Row Inn Is a charming, historical place to stay when visiting downtown Richmond. I have stayed there multiple times over the years since it opened in the 1980's. I highly recommend this Inn. Wonderful staff!

A quaint Inn with a touch of history to it. The reception is a bit small but friendly enough. although you have to have the right staff on duty to get the right answers. rooms were clean and comfortable although the noise of the air con from the room below was disturbing. A downside was our friends had a settee... More

The whole place needs painting and all the rugs need to go. The furniture is so worn out and dirty!! The hotel needs a good cleaning!!!!!!! I would not... More

If you are looking for History and ambiance and mood, the Linden Row Inn is perfect. We, only, stayed one night but know that we will be back. The staff is helpful and remains, almost, unseen allowing us to enjoy our stay. Our room overlooked the center garden. The breakfast hit the spot.

Stayed here for a night while attending a wedding. Definitely an "older" place with some wear and tear, but I had a great experience. Front desk attendant was awesome, gave us great intel on local places to eat (there are many). Our room was basic, high ceilings and an inoperable fireplace. Yeah, this is not holiday inn, but an historic... More

Linden Row Inn is a 70-room boutique historic hotel located in the heart of Downtown Richmond. The hotel is comprised of seven row houses built in the mid-1800’s, and meticulously restored over the years. The hotel’s guest rooms are furnished with antiques from the middle and late 1800’s, and the hotel is proud to be featured on the National Register of Historic Places. Edgar Allan Poe spent his childhood playing in the garden that is now the hotel’s garden courtyard, and local legend has it that the property is home to the “enchanted garden” that Poe mentions in his famous poem “To Helen.” ... more   less
