My husband and I recently stayed at the Berkeley for 5 nights for a "history getaway." The accommodations were above average and the staff was very accommodating. On our last night there the air conditioning was not working properly in our room and within 15 minutes we were relocated to another room. We reserved a package that included breakfast. The... More

I stayed here for business purposes and was really pleased with my decision to book here. It was quiet, the room was nicely furnished and comfortable. Food was good and staff was pleasant and professional at all times.

We've stayed here about 15-20 times. It has always been good -- some rooms are better than others, of course. (The ones on the air shaft are really quiet but the view is really boring. Upgrade to a balcony room in January was fun, if a bit chilly on the balcony.) This trip I focused especially in food. For dinner,... More

Overall a very nice experience. Awesome location with excellent, attentive staff. The property itself is nice, staring to show its age a bit. Its quaint, with a sophisticated air. The only real criticisms of the property I had was that the water pressure in their showers were very low. Took forever to take a shower. Their wi-fi is also VERY... More

In the first part of June we stayed at The Berkeley for three nights. This is a small, friendly and very accommodating hotel. This is an older hotel that is kept in excellent shape...comfortable beds, tastefully decorated rooms and a heating/cooling system that works well. We ate breakfast each morning and had dinners at the hotel for two nights. My... More

Nice enough, good for pets with no extra charges for cleaning. Take a top floor, lower levels have street noise very late into the night. Friendly staff, park car yourself, it is across the street and you can save $21.00

Not cheap, but very nice and a great location! Historic area with lots of restaurants just nearby! Good walking area, capitol just up the hill! Great breakfast and valet parking was included in the rate! We would definitely go back! A non smoking hotel but definitely cigarette smoke smell on the 6th floor!

Our room was beautiful. Great location and close to some restaurants and bars. The staff were great--- I saw workers moving furniture to vacuum thoroughly! We enjoyed the balcony and long wall of windows.

We spent two nights and three days at the Berkeley Hotel on E. Cary Street in Richmond and were very pleased with our choice! The only drawback was the valet parking at $21.00 a night, so if you can find a local lot/garage, it might save a few dollars. We had a premium king sized room with one of the... More

Stopped in Richmond on the way to New York. Very very charming city. A lot of funky bars/restaurants around VCU. The Berkeley was a find. Clean and cozy on a great cobblestone street with lots of character
