We were a party of 5 with 3 rooms and had made our reservations months ago. We checked in at 10:30 PM and were giver room 402. Another of our party was given 501. Both these rooms faced an air shaft with a dumpster and other garbage in the alley. The room was small and dark and a bath that... More

Stayed at the Berkeley for a brief overnight stay while passing through Richmond. Really nice hotel. In walking distance to restaurants, starbucks and the viriginia state capital. I really enjoyed my stay here. The valet parking is $30 per day which is pricey. We didn't use the valet service. There are plenty of parking garages in the area. We paid... More

We have stayed here in the past and it was a wonderful experience. I wish I could say the same this time. There was incredible NOISE coming from outside our hotel window, such as, cars revving their engines, yelling, offensive language and cursing. Apparently this is the place where groups of people meet and hang out ,before they hit the... More

I was in Richmond for business and booked the 4 star Berkeley. Small but very cozy and classic hotel. I was given a beautiful 900 Sq foot suite complete with 2 showers and a bathroom big enough to fit 10 people easily. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable of things to do in the area. I have a new home... More

They get A star for cleanliness and decor. My partner and I are staying for business/pleasure and have experienced everything BUT comfort so far...From the beginning: I called the night before our stay to request an upper floor as we did not want any of the noise from the street....So they put us in a room with a lovely view... I did not use the bar, or eat anything here, but my wife and I did enjoy our very comfortable room and found it to be a very nice place to relax and used as a base for seeing the city and the nearby cobbled street area of historic Richmond. Highly recommended.

This hotel is just great! Probably the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Everything is very well thought out - Keurig coffee maker in the room, curved shower curtain rail that gives extra room in the shower, VERY comfortable bed with excellent supportive pillows (not the pillows that so many hotels use that compress down to nothing). Staff was... More

The hotel was fine. Our rooms were on the second floor and the street noise was crazy loud from bar revelers. The beds were very comfortable and the room was well appointed. Love the robes! Avoid the bar; the drinks are overpriced ($57 for four neat drinks).

The Berkeley is a very charming "older world" style hotel with lots of dark wood interior in the restaurant and bar which creates a warm, welcoming and relaxing environment. The rooms are quite nice with all the typical furnishing of an upscale hotel and a really good price! The food in the restaurant is absolutely better than most hotels! I... More

A well appointed boutique hotel in the heart of the historic district in Downtown Richmond. The room was quiet and comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly. A great and relaxing stay. We were able to walk to a number of high quality restaurants. We had a small dog with us and they treated him like family.
