This is a very beautiful hotel. Overall I enjoyed my stay with the convenience of a Starbucks right in the lobby, for me you can't go wrong. As expected for a full-service hotel the prices were higher than the norm for room service and internet was $12.95 per day. The room was nice and comfortable. I had a great sleep... more

For starters the hotel is located in a "seedy" part of town, and unsafe to walk around at night. The price for a stay at this Marriott is definitely over priced, and service was terrible. It seemed as if there was a "major melt down" with the management. We attended a conference, and was surprised to find the restaurant was... more

Horrible location in the slummy downtown area. You are in danger if you go outside after dark.. High price parking at $18.00 per day and the valet staff expects a tip on top of the price. Restaurant overpriced with so-so quality food and service. Room service very poor-left breakfast order on door at 8:00 pm-at 6:30 next morning it was... more

Onthe morning of March 24, 2009 I contacted the reservations department of Marriott to get reservations for May 29, 2009 at the group rate for the upcoming State Republican Convention. They advised that the $129.00 block of rooms were filled but they would reduce the normal priced room from $259.95 down to the group rate. When I had not received... more

I never, ever experienced the quality of service that I received at this hotel. If I was a VIP, I would expect to have doors opened for me, a greeting by management and the General Manager, and room service making haste to bring me a new toothbrush since I forgot my own. But I'm certainly not a VIP, Richmond wasn't... more

Was in Richmond on business in December and stayed in this location for one night. Overall was a really nice stay. Staff Everyone here was great! The Valet was prompt and courteous -- as well as willing to help with directions. The front desk was also very helpful and welcoming. Rooms Hotel is in renovations right now. The new rooms... more

If you're attending an event at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, this is the place to stay. Located literally next door to the facility and offers a skywalk that's convenient in case of bad weather. The hotel appears to be under some renovation, and I ended up with one of the rooms that wasn't renovated. It wasn't bad, but definitely... more

The staff was extremely courteous and efficient. We were using Marriott points and we received an upgrade - ended up staying on the top floor (18th) with a wonderful vista of the city. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate and the staff had smiles on their faces (even though they were short-staffed). more

After reading some of the reviews I had the idea that the Marriott would be located in some random and dangerous part of Richmond. While it is not right on the river like some of the hotels, there are things to see and places to eat within walking distance. Also, the hotel provides free van service around the area. We... more
