A lovely 3 star hotel in a perfect and convenient location. Clean, comfortable rooms, with a great breakfast and super friendly staff, especially Serena. Excellent restaurants are nearby. I would not hesitate to return!

A small and friendly hotel in a good location on the square by the seafront. Very quiet in mid-November. Pleasant, helpful staff. Pleasingly decorated breakfast room.Good places to eat just a few paces away.

I woke up in room 116, overlooking the square and the sea, on a beautiful, warm November day and wanted to stay there forever. This is a charming hotel in a lovely town. The staff are friendly and helpful. There's a nice little inexpensive bar and cosy sofas in which to enjoy an aperitif. Good sized rooms with balconies. Bed... More

Castellamare out of season is quiet. Much of the town seems closed. But the Al Madarig is wonderfully placed overlooking the town square and the little cove below. Fascinating place, its low buildings huddled around the crescent of the harbour. Get a room with a balcony and wake up to the sun. Simple hotel but everything works, the staff are... More

Good location and very good price. I stayed hear in Sept 2014 with some friends, almost at the end of the main holiday season so quiet (apart from Saturday). Rooms have air conditions, bathrooms are clean and rooms are comfortable. The staff are very friendly and most helpful. Breakfast can be busy as it was a popular spot when I... More

This was our first time in Sicily other than a stop made by a cruise ship we were on. We drove from the airport near Palermo and spent our first four days in the lovely hotel. We had a nice view of the sea and of one of many piazzas in this city. The room was very clean, spacious and... More

Great location for staying on Castellamare del Golfo in my opinion! Room was really nice (we stayed at the top floor) and had an amazing terrace where we hung out. Close to restaurants. Did not like the town all that much, but we only stayed for 2 nights and 1 day, on our Sicilian round trip which was perfect. You... More

My girlfriend and I planned a trip to Italy for July 2014, I did a lot of research about different areas of Sicily and what was on offer. The girlfriend wanted a beach very nearby and a good nightlife, I wanted a central base where we could go on trips and a nice town to enjoy in the evenings. Castellamarre... More
