I had to stay here because every hotel/motel in the hil country was sold out. I also didn't feel like sleeping in my car. Basically, I would recommend this Inn only if you had no other option and sleeping in you car is too much for you. Some of you might find it easier to sleep in your car. The... More

We pulled into this motel to spend a nice evening and get some sun and swim, and the lady could barely speak english and wanted $95.00 for a double room with 1 queen bed. I looked at the room and it was filthy. There was 1 wash cloth and 1 small bath towel and they appeared to have been put... More

Hotel was very dirty, lots of bugs, some very strange folks staying, even when our room was "cleaned" there were dirty towels from the previous guest. Awful place. Three times the lady in the office tried to tell me that my checkout was 2 days earlier than it actually was. Not good record keeping.

Place is awful--dirty, run-down, towel racks broken, door wouldn't lock, bugs in the room. When we checked in late in the afternoon, we were the only ones in the entire complex--at about 8-9 pm, someone moved into the room right next to us and it sounded like they were having a party. I went to the front desk to ask:... More

So I shopped all my choices in Johnson City. I zeroed in on this hotel, and then called to ask if a single, NS was available that night. It was. I rolled into town about 10 p.m. I was asked to fill out the old style registration and gave my credit card to pay the total charge of $62. I... More

Got to Johnson City on a Friday & needed a hotel for the night. Best Western had one room left for $129.99 (earlier in the week it was $71.99) I went to Hill Country Inn and got a room for $59.99. Clearly an older hotel and not as updated as Best Western. Doesn’t have continental breakfast or coffee in the... More

Older property. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. Clean beds, accepts small pets for extra fee, free wifi didn't last more than 1 hr. Housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired--don't look behind nightstand! Light not working in bathroom. Fridge partially blocks entrance to bathroom. That being said, if all you want is an overnight at an affordable... More

2 stars would be too generous for the Hill Country Inn which is suffering after 65 years in Johnson City. The sign offered free wi-fi but I couldn't get on. Manager Raj gave me a revised code but it didn't work. The room was crowded with a king bed, fridge and microwave. the bathroom was antique. I found a used... More

After Motel 6 wanting $176+ for one night in Fredericksburg, we drove the 30 miles east to find another more reasonable motel. We found the Hill Country Inn on US 290/US 281 in Johnson City. It was a *very* small room, but clean and adequate for one night. The A/C didn't work that day, but fortunately it wasn't needed once... More
