We loved staying in this Agriturismo: you are served home made wine, olive oil, vegetables and pasta for dinner. Vegetables are grown on a patch right outside the hotel rooms. One thing I wasn't crazy about was the boiled sheep that they served: it's a Sardinian specialty but it's not for everyone. Other than that everything was wonderful! The owner... More

Agriturismo Guthiddai is a real find. The surrounding landscape is spectacular and was a pleasure to gaze upon from the charming little terrace connected to our room. We also enjoyed having a look at the vegetable garden, olive grove and fruit trees, while my son especially had fun playing with Lola and Pablo, two very cute dogs. The family who... More

We only ate (didn't stay) here but the experience was phenomenal. They served many courses of excellent quality food and were really accommodating about my request for an alternative meat for the main. The young lady serving us on both evenings provided excellent service, the portions were beyond generous and we left feeling full in our bellies and warmed in... More

We just stayed for a week in July 2014. Although our expectations were already high (great pictures, raving reviews), they were easily surpassed. What a paradise Guthiddai is. What beauty and tranquility, and what hospitality and family-feel it offers! Three generations of Floris-family, supported by such a wonderful team. Here the grandmother does indeed take care of the garden. And... More

We approached this agriturismo with the thought that it couldn't be as good as the reviews said it was - but it was. The location is stunning, with a backdrop of the most scenic limestone mountain range in Sardinia. It's a great centre for hiking. The architecture is simple and charming - every room has its own sitting out area... More

This is what an agriturismo should be! It is a real working farm with mostly organic practices. First, the setting is perfect being situated at the base of beautiful mountains. It is in the country so it is is so quiet; at night we didn't hear a sound! Antonella was so great to work with when setting up our reservation... More

We spent six nights at Guithddai and Antonella and her staff treated us like family. She finally had to kick us out because she was all booked up. The rooms were comfortable (iask for room #1 and you can watch the sunrise from bed), the dinners were delicious, authentic Corsican food. The house red wine was so good we took... More

We stayed here for one night to try the agriturismo experience in Sardinia and chose this particular property because it was family operated. The mountain location is beautiful and peaceful and the orchards were full of gorgeous olive trees. We were the last guests to arrive for the night so check-in was a bit rushed because the staff were busy... More

We spend a wonderful evening in Guthiddai. Pure food of a high quality and tastefully cooked, served in an informal but professional way. A long-list of antipasta (I guess 5 or 6 different dishes), followed by two excellent 'primi piatti' and a 'secondi' formed by 4 different sorts of meat with a fresh salad and a home made ice cream... We spent 8 days at Guthiddai during the month of August 2013. The place was really an excellent surprise: comfortable accommodation, tasty local food (I could praise many dishes, but the agnello is probably the one that springs first to my mind) and wine (the red especially, probably one of the best organic wine I ever tried). The service was... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guthiddai is an ancient name of unknown origin. It refers to the wide valley that extends eastward from Oliena. Here you discover, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, the Agriturismo Guthidday, an idyllic estate, which has developed harmoniously with the surrounding landscape of pastures, vines and olive trees since the early fifties. The center of the delightful country estate is a picturesque courtyard combining rustic elegance with beautiful flower arrangements, typical of the traditional Oliena culture. Nothing disturbs the perfect harmony of the architectural design. Guthiddai agriturismo provides a wonderful dining experience with 2 dining rooms as well as 10 cosy and comfortable rooms, each equipped with private bathroom and balcony. Every room is surrounded by vegetable and flower beds, orchards, vineyards and olive groves. The family takes meticulous care to ensure the highest bio-quality of all their products thus creating the very special country style atmosphere of the agriturismo. With sincere traditional hospitality, the Floris family assure their guests really feel at home, whether it be for a short or long stay or simply an authentic sardinian lunch or dinner. ... more   less
