Made the mistake of assuming all the hilltop streets were pedestrianised, we were exhausted from walking up with our bags from the modern town area at the bottom of the hill! There is parking... follow the road to the 'centro historica' and then near the top take a cobbled street on the right which takes you around the rear (coastal... More

We have just returned from a tour of North-West Sardinia which included two nights at Casa Doria. We found it to be very charming and comfortable. No smell of sewers or cold showers (as previously reported). Patrizia was very welcoming and helpful (it does help to have some Italian) and gave us good advice about what to visit. The living... We used previous trip advisor (and other travel guide) reviews when choosing somewhere to stay in Castelsardo, and we weren't disappointed. The accommodation offered at Casa Doria was perfectly suited to the deeply historic hilltop citadel of Castelsardo, and offer a comfortable and relaxing spot to retire to after a long day clambering through the narrow streets of the town.... It was a charming place and it had character. If you want to feel like you've gone on a time trip, this place would be good. For me, the smell of the sewer was too strong and the shower was cold (It was OK in the morning but not in the best condition). The owner was friendly though. If this... More

This b&b is nice enough but nothing particularly special. It's smells old and a bit damp and it needs some maintenance but it was clean. It was very windy when we were there and the glass in the window in our bathroom rattled all night. The owner is lovely but no check-in before 6pm is a bit ridiculous!

Let me start by saying that this is a good B&B, nothing wrong with it. It has a good location in the old center of Castelsardo (although a bit hard to reach by bike because of all the steps:) ) and inside it all looks good. Having said that, there is also nothing that stands out for this B&B. Breakfast... More

Casa Dorio is full of character! The room was spacious and charming - pictures of the owners forebears, locally woven baskets on the walls. The breakfast was served upstairs in a room with a fantastic view. The hostess is friendly with little English. The location is in a residential area. It is necessary to park the car down the hill... after a faulty start in reaching Castelsardo with the public transport system, we finally got to our accommodation at Casa Doria. Host picked us up and was very welcoming. Room had air conditioning (vital in the august heat!) and was very tidy and comfortable. is located in such a fascinating part of Sardinia - lots of wonderful places to explore... More

We came in September from the Paradiso coast with no plan for the night. Casa Doria has been recommended by the excellent Restaurant Le Cisterne. It could not have been better. Within the old & lovely part of the town. Walking distance to the free parking (5 minutes). All the rooms are spacious and decorated with and taste and traditional... More

What a discovery, thanks to Lonely planet book! Located in the oldest part of the city, accessible by pedestrian alleyways, we parked our car and walked for about 3 minutes, surrounded by an excellent restaurants and lots of history, we paid 55 Euro for two inc. breakfast for a charming rustic room.
