We've now stayed at this hotel twice. The rooms are comfortable, and the whole place is charming. It's quite small, as hotels go, but that adds to its charm. It is very convenient to MIT and environs, and it is a quick, convenient hop by T to Boston as well as the surrounding area. It was very quiet, except for... More

I've stayed here twice. It's right in the middle of Kendall Square, which is super convenient for business at MIT. The decor is unabashedly New England with a firehouse twist. Staff is efficient and friendly. In the evenings, the cozy restaurant downstairs keep the atmosphere vibrant (and there is no noise problem.) Much better than the regular Marriot / Hilton... More

We absolutely loved the feel of an old firehouse. The rooms are decorated with a combination of fire memorabilia and other America themed items. The location is good and the breakfast was excellent. It is an added bonus that you can park under the hotel.

We stayed at The Kendall last weekend. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel lobby looked just like it was pictured. Our room was adorable, clean and very patriotic. We slept excellent as the beds were super comfortable. All over the hotel were little interesting and adorable things to look at. My favorite was the child's fire truck outside the elevator... More

We stayed here in May for my husband's Harvard reunion. It is located near MIT, but just a couple T stops from Harvard. The hotel retains a lot of old world character and charm. The food in the restaurant was good, and the rooms were unique and well-appointed. I'm not a fan of big, chain hotels, so this was the... More

I stayed three nights on a business trip and was so glad I chose the Kendall over the Marriott across the street. If you require total predictability, choose a chain, but the Kendall is wonderfully unique and at least as good a deal as a special rate at the Marriott. Others have hit on the main attributes. For me, quiet... More

The Kendall hotel prides itself in being a "Historic Hotel of America". This is a true experience that happened in the second week of dec 2014. We were a group of 14 people staying in the hotel for 4 nights. When we checked in, the elevator was not working. This we though was excusable. The luggage however had to be... More

You have my sincere apologies. As a hotel GM, I do my very best to ensure a high quality experience for all guests. I try to anticipate and prevent anything that might make put a damper on a guest's comfort. Unfortunately, some things are out of my control. Boston has endured one of its worst winters in history. Pipes crack,... More

This is one of those rare hotels where the staff pay attention to every detail, constantly improving the rooms, the building, the decor, the services. They are always friendly. The rooms are clean, charming and cutely appointed. The buffet breakfast is also charming and plentiful. Wireless intenet is free and of ultra-fast high quality. The hotel is perfectly situated in... Stayed at the Kendall Hotel for a week of teaching at MIT during a week that featured a two foot snow fall. This converted firehouse is loaded with charm, the room I stayed in was large and comfortable, the bathroom well-appointed and very quiet, the walls must be quite thick as I didn't hear any of my fellow guests or... I spent two nights at the Kendall Hotel while visiting MIT for work. What a fantastic place! First, the location is great: right in the centre of the MIT campus, surrounded by a few good and a lot of quick restaurants. It couldn't be closer to the T either. Then the hotel itself is great: well-appointed rooms, top-notch toiletries, nice... More
