We travel often and like to stay in historic hotels. The Kendall exceeded our expectations!!! The Kendall is a renovated Engine 7 Fire Station built in 1875. After Engine Co. 7 closed in 1993, it sat vacant and deteriorated. In 2000, a restoration began, including adding a 7 story tower. It opened in 2002 as the area's only historic boutique... More

We typically stay in Boston but hotel prices seemed crazier than usual even for summertime. Cambridge is right across the Charles River so very easy access to Boston. The Kendall is less than a block from the Red Line subway. Very convenient. Hotel borders the MIT campus, very interesting to walk around the area. Iced coffees at Dunkin Donuts 1/2... More

The location is excellent, right next to a T station. Easy access to Boston, easy - and free - access from Logan using the Silver Line bus and T transfer. My room was on the top floor under the eaves, but the AC was very good and kept things cool. Big room, big bed, big TV, sofa. Very hot water,... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Each room is decorated differently. Each night we slept soundly. The last night we were there the hotel was booked to capacity and still, we never heard any of our neighbors. Amazing! Also, I have never seen the level of cleanliness I saw at this hotel. Not... Just spent a week at the fabulous Kendall Hotel in Cambridge. It's location in a quiet part of the city lends itself to restful evenings, while still being a very easy T-ride into Boston or up to Harvard. Even more wonderful, though, is the artwork that creates a comfortable ambiance and makes traveling through the lobby and hallways like walking... More

Really enjoyed out stay at the Kendall. Unique property, well decorated, everything about the place is substantial and beautifully decorated. Large room, very comfortable bed, large and well-appointed bathroom. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious. Very convenient location, on eastern edge of MIT campus near the Charles and steps from the Kendall/MIT T station. Only drawback within the hotel's control... More

This hotel was excellent. The rooms were spotless and the staff was more than helpful. The hotel is perfectly located across from MIT. The restaurant in the hotel was fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel.

From the moment we arrived, found the hotel and staff to be very welcoming and the beds were so very comfortable! Ate at the restaurant for dinner and the food was excellent. The fresh halibut sliced like butter and was beautifully prepared. Breakfast buffet was absolutely outstanding.

I wish more interesting restaurants were nearby. Do not miss the Gehry buildings nearby. Bathroom lovely. Bed huge and firm. Air conditioning excellent. Very close to subway and MIT too. Not inexpensive but Cambridge is pricy.

We've stayed at the Kendall on multiple overnights in Cambridge and like its location, nice breakfast, and dependable, comfortable rooms. The fire station theme gets a bit old and the decor is not "elegant" and borders on kitsch. Patriotic-themed rooms with red white and blue bed spreads and big throw pillows. Young kids will get a kick out of it... More
