I spent two nights at the Kendall Hotel while visiting MIT for work. What a fantastic place! First, the location is great: right in the centre of the MIT campus, surrounded by a few good and a lot of quick restaurants. It couldn't be closer to the T either. Then the hotel itself is great: well-appointed rooms, top-notch toiletries, nice... More

I really love this hotel and stay here when in the Boston/Cambridge area. It is a very cozy and welcoming hotel, particularly during the holidays. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated; the breakfast is fabulous offering many choices for a delicious breakfast. The hotel is very convienent to the Kendall Red Line T-stop, so traveling into Boston is a... More

There is so much to like about this hotel, and I really want to praise it, but there are a number of hiccups that need to be acknowledged. First, the plus side. It's in a great location, directly across the street from the Kendall Red Line transit stop, surrounded by MIT and all the restaurants and shops that a great... More

Thank you for the input. The Kendall is always trying to better itself and you have given us food for thought. The Kendall is a small, family owned and operated historic hotel, and you are right about the B&B feel - people love that about us and it is often the reason they chose us over the big chain hotels.... The hotel is beautifull and different in decoration from all others hotels. People who works at the hotel is just GREAT and very kind. The room is perfect and also the full breakfast. My husband and I dropped off our daughter at her camp friends' house near Cambridge and we headed to our destination-The Kendall Hotel. We really had not heard anything about this Inn except that its location was perfect for exploring the city of Boston. Upon entering this immaculate hotel you are completely transfixed by the motif! Everything in the lobby... More

Hubby & I stayed here a couple of years ago...enjoyed our stay.., room was comfortable & clean...continental breakfast the next morning was very good. The other nice thing is the T was right across the street...easy access to any where in Boston!!! The fun part that it's an old fire house...the dining area & receptionist desk were in the bay... We have stayed at this hotel at least once if not twice a year over the past five. In fact, its our number one choice when we come to Boston. Its full of character and not like the cookie cutter options around the corner. The hotel's GM, Brenda, is unfailingly friendly and helpful as is the entire staff. Breakfast is... More

Thank you for your kind words. I always try to give my treasured guest my best, but my friendliness does fail from time to time if I'm caught before my morning coffee ;-) Love your appreciation of the character of the Kendall. A lot of work went into our aesthetic. It was a family effort. Look forward to seeing you... More

Not luxury, but very comfortable, warm and friendly staff, antique furnitures, cosy atmosphere. Very convenient location, with lots of good food nearby, and bookstores in the neighbourhood. We had a rare power outage due to flooding during our stay but the hotel was very nice about it and have us a gift voucher to make up, along with a nice... More

Thank you for being such a good sport during that freak occurrence. I felt not enough could be done to express our gratitude for your graceful endurance. Accidents happen and we have already taken measures to insure that that particular problem not occur again. Every room is different, with each hand-appointed by the family that owns the hotel. The Kendall... More

This hotel has a lot of character, is quiet and also convenient. I originally wanted to stay close to Harvard Square for a meeting I had but my first choices were fully booked. I decided to take a bet that the Kendall's location to the underground (called T-stop) would get me to my meeting on time, and I'm so glad... More

Thanks for your recommendation. It is appreciated. The "T," which is steps from us, is the perfect way to zip around the city, for work or for play. The Kendall prides itself on being a quaint and quiet oasis in the midst of a thriving city. Glad you felt that way about it. Come back and see us again! My... More

Right next to MIT and its T-stop this is a charming, comfortable hotel that lends a personal touch at every turn. Every room has character and homey touches that provide a feeling of cosiness and comfort. Love the extra blankets and historic touches. I needed some re-booking help and we had a few small requests that were handled beautifully by... More

I am so pleased to read that you enjoyed the Kendall and our very personalized service -- we are such a unique oasis in our high tech neighborhood. I am sorry the elevator. We recently upgraded the cab and one of the new mechanical parts was defective. Of course, as “Murphy’s Law” would go, this happened Friday night and the... More
